Dr. Rances is an expert at what he does. I have yet to leave his offices feeling less than heard and much better than when I went in. He does the majority of his services onsite, so if you need an epidural it can be done quickly and with minimal fuss. Friendly staff and handy communication methods like text messaging that drop into real people so you can get a real response, make the new office a pleasure to go to. I'm the worst kind of patient. I have a little knowledge and push for things. This can be problematic for the doctor as I often come in knowing what I want. While Dr. Rances does not always give me what I want (because what I want is the wrong thing) he does always do what is needed to make me feel better. Take any of your pain issues to him and he will find a way through. He will get you moving to the best of your ability. Just put the work in and you'll get much better, very quickly.

She left such a strong impression on me because I saw how gracefully she went from one treatment room to another and had this ease about her. Although I knew she was completely booked that day, she didn't make me feel rushed. Fast forward to this year (2020!!!). I had gotten a case of terrible rosacia because of stress, to the point where my skin was rough, inflamed, in pain, it literally felt like there were needles poking at my skin. She put me on medication (oral and topical), but beyond that, reiterated that skin really is a 360 health issue and gave me a vitamin, diet and exercise regime. I saw immediate improvements and my skin is back to where it needs to be. No, she doesn't take insurance anymore and she is pricey, but the rosacia visit was 1 payment and the follow-ups were considered part of the treatment. I appreciate her honest and transparent advice. I got an e-mail from zocdoc that said to contact the provider. I did not immediately contact them because I was away for work all day, but I did contact them before the appointment. They wanted to explain that I have a deductible on my insurance. I KNOW THAT. I signed up for the plan, and I have an HSA account with lots and lots of money. IT ISN'T AN ISSUE. $200.00 is not an issue. HOWEVER, they had already given my appointment away, the day before it was even scheduled. I was so so so excited to finally see someone, but SO SO SO SO INCREDIBLY angry because they could not re-book me any time soon at a time that would actually work for me. ALSO, they NEVER ONCE tried to contact me they simply gave my appointment away. I seriously feel like Im on an episode of Curb. This place is a disaster. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I thank God for Dr. Heymann. My sister had been sick and in pain for weeks and weeks and no doctor…read morecould find what was wrong. Dr. Heymann realized she had a perforated appendix (7x the normal size) that had leaked infection in her diaphragm area. He performed surgery in which he took out not only her appendix, but part of her intestine, colon, Fallopian tube, ovary and more. It was a serious, long surgery (4-5 hours) and she was in Lenox Hill Hospital for 12 days. Dr. Heymann even checked on her on weekends(!!) and made himself available to my sister and our family, who flew in from California. We finally found out a few days ago that there was no cancer: and thanks to Dr. Heymann's expert care, my sister has been resting at home now, healing and is doing great! Dr. Heymann is just what a surgeon should be. He is extremely kind, human, communicative, detailed and conscientious, knowlegable and caring. I believe he saved my sister's life and we are so grateful to him.
