I recently moved to Rome and was looking for a good old Barber Shop and found it at Forrest. Amelia was terrific and did a wonderful job cutting my hair. As a man with a large, full, long beard, it is always difficult to find someone who has the skills and experience to trim, line-out and shape a big beard. My search is over. Debbie Bell is my new GO-TO for my beard trim and haircut. She does a GREAT job and has been at the barber shop for over 30 years...how's that for experience? She is a very nice lady. I'd only been to a barber shop a few times before I started going to this one around a year or so ago. I was looking for a place that did straight razor work, as I had never had the experience. After looking at a couple of other barber shops that didn't work with straight razors I found out that this one did. I didn't know what to expect when I first went there but I was pleasantly surprised. I was fortunate enough to get Hannah as my barber that day, and honestly I don't want to use anyone else. I've had bad experiences with hair places in the past, being too rough or just acted as if I was a bother. But the atmosphere in this shop is calm with a taste of Mayberry in the air. She nearly puts me to sleep every time, she's so gentle. And the quality of the cut and shave are second to none. They take their time and do a great job. And they are all kind and pleasant. The one time the other lady, I can't recall her name at the moment, cut and shaved me I was bummed because I wanted to use Hannah, but I was not let down. I will continue to use this place as long as these guys continue the great work, and seeing how long it's been there that may be quite a while. read more

I have been going to this barber shop for years and never had a bad experience. They provide a good cut at a fair price.

Amelia has chair at Forrest Barber Shop and she is a Master Cosmetologist and the only one there who does women's haircuts. She has been cutting my hair for several years and she always does a great job. Since I have some natural curl it's important to work with it to get it to lay right. Not everyone can cut naturally curly hair well. While there I watched the men getting the "works"__ haircuts, shaves, beard trims. I could tell that everyone listened to their clients and did a very good job. Made me wish I could get a little of that pampering! I highly recommend this shop. read more
