This business flouts business regulations as much as it can. The bare minimum of care is provided…read moreto animals and staff. The premises is filthy dirty, even where pet foods are kept, like the freezer. Bird droppings are everywhere. Poor information on the pet you are acquiring is given, which we found to cause the pet we acquired problems.

Waltham Abbey Pets
My boyfriends mom took me out shopping several times when I last visited, and we spent a lovely…read moremorning in Waltham Abbey. Since I love spoiling my dog rotten, I had to stop in Waltham Abbey Pets so I could get him a little souvenir from England. It's just a small little shop full of toys, treats and various other pet sundries. I don't think they sell many animals...all I remember seeing is a few fish tanks and a parrot with a sign on his cage that says "I bite fingers". You can bring your pets in the store as well--I played a bit with a giant slobbery black dog that I'd seen running around outside earlier that morning. Anyhow, I bought Muggle a ginormous bag of salmon dog treats for only #1.50 and he absolutely loved them.

I was drawn into this store by the little football kits for dogs on display in the front window…read more My husband is a Spurs fan, and I thought my dog would look great sporting a Spurs jersey on game days. (Just not for £18). Upon entering the store, a friendly cockatoo said hello to both of us. Shortly after, two cats walked up to greet us as well. I think there were four cats loose in the store, just strolling around and checking everyone out. Or in the case of Prada, a fat fluffy black cat, just lying in the middle of the floor and moving for no one. The shop is mainly pet supplies but it does sell some pets as well. We saw several kittens for sale, a few birds and a tarantula. Other merchandise for sale includes pet food, treats, toys, clothing and other silly accessories. If you're a football fan, there is quite a bit of paraphernalia such as jerseys, collars and food dishes. Treats are cheap, so we bought a few and Muggle highly approved of them. When we checked out there was another cat sitting up on the counter having a nap. If you're allergic to cats, you might want to give this shop a pass!
I got a terminally ill kitten from that shop. She had corona virus either from irresponsible…read morebreeding (her parents)or from her stay in the shop in that glass fish tank-sized cage she was kept with other cats. The virus soon mutated into FIP a deadly disease for cats for which there is no cure. It was heartbreaking to watch my little girl just fade away. She was very much loved but never even had a shot at a long happy and healthy life. I have multiple vet records (Goddard veterinary clinic, Kennington) and disease history to back my words and we will pursue the case further. I will not get any more kittens from that shop and I wish it would go out of business. They encourage irresponsible breeding, kittens are kept in glass cages four or five at a time, most of them have ear mites and sore eyes(that alone should get the shop closed, you don't just get away by selling obviously damaged goods especially when a little precious life is involved.) I don't understand how that sort of business can still exist.
