I have been a member of Forest Hill Church for about 5 years now and love it. It is the largest/main campus for the church, and it has a casual atmosphere, so jeans are fine, but you will see some people still dressed up a bit more. I love that you see a diversity of ages and families in the church. Services start with a time of worship- very contemporary with lights, screens to see the words, etc. Senior pastor David Chadwick preaches from the Word of God. And then the service closes with another worship song. The Southpark campus pastor, Jonathan Scott is also awesome and will preach when David is away, etc. The church has small groups called "Life Groups" and you can get connected at any time, but check the website for "Life Group Connect" where you can meet all the life group leaders and get plugged into a group immediately. There is a wonderful children's ministry during the service and middle school/high school meet Sunday nights for what is called "Advance" If you are visiting or new to the church, stop by the info booth and they will answer any questions you have. read more

I love my church. My wife and I have recently become members after a few months of consistent attendance. Our community of friends are associated with Forest Hill through our life group and we will be co-leading a new life group in a few weeks, something we are very excited about. When it comes to elements of value, the teaching is gospel-focused, intentionally grounded in the bible, and completely God-centered. The worship is reverent, fun, talented, and God-focused. There is a real sense of love for God and a desire for authentic community. Two things my wife and I must have in our choice of a local spiritual family. Forest Hill Church (FHC) is by far my preferred church... I have visited many churches through the years, more-so in the past decade since moving to the Charlotte region. With the movement of non-denomination, I felt more at home and comfortable. I tried several in Charlotte and FHC ended up becoming home. David Chadwick is a fantastic teacher and pastor. He's a great man and truly a man of God. He'll often say, "you may not like everything I teach, but I'm called to teach the word and it's in the book." I have found that many churches want you to feel comfortable and avoid the more sensitive teachings but I find it important to be challenged and am thankful for the teachings. My bride and I utilized their marriage counseling as well prior to marriage and it was fantastic. read more

Can I get a amen! Grateful! Today after a few sittings at a few churches in my new town...I finally found the right one for me. Y'all ever do the church shopping thing? It has to reach you. It was a destination today unplanned. I chose a few nights ago...two churches that seemed a great fit and decided on one of the two. In my very well known scurry to church mornings. I entered the address into the GPS. I had taken photos of both the other day. As my GPS took me there, I realized some time had passed and should have been there already. It was then I realized...hey....this is the church I chose. This is the other church that's further. The one I decided against because of the distance.Not wanting to be extremely late I was gettin to A Church. Well this church started at 11:15am Well guess What? I was then early. Not sure what comes over me when I'm late. I always like to be on time. ;) What a welcome that was. Just like my other home at Livewire Church in Naples, I felt ease. The enourmous place of worship was overwhelming. They took me through signup for Aliviya...and walked me through the whole process. I said not a word. Just listened and took it in. I knew how this should have been because I used to serve my church as well. 2 to 3 times a week. It was an honor to do so. And to see that same heart in people was indeed a blessing. Aliviya went right into her class as if it were home. Trusting every step. So proud of her. From beginning to end it was a great experience. The pastor was right at the beginning of the first series of unwrapping the bible. Right at the part I never understood but never bothered to pursue it to understand. I was more like...well maybe Jesus wants me to know this part some other time..lol. Moving on, he tore it up in there on stage. The understanding came. I was excited. After it was over, I was well informed on where to pick Aliviya up and when I got to her she was all smiles. This great big room where all the children gather to be collected by their parents. I was greeted immediately by one of the caregivers, and was delighted to meet one of the daughters of the preachers. She greeted me just as her father had when we first walked in. Was a delighted. When we are leaving and getting on our coats in the lobby of this enormous building, Aliviya says, " I think we found our church". So there it is. I asked the Lord to guide me to the right church. Well he did better. He gave me the GPS dirctions. Lol...He put me where I immediately felt at ease and comfortable. And right where I needed to be in pursuing my next steps. That's how it goes folks! I feel compelled to write this review. It's is not solicited but rather It's for those of you who are wondering if you should take the plunge and join or come visit. I absolutely love worshipping here. I'd describe the Sunday sermons as more of a teaching than a preaching and that is what I love most. I am not very familiar with much of the Bible, I'm getting there, but have a lot to learn. However, what I can say with conviction is that I'm learning how to be more inline with God's word and faithfulness through the leadership at this church. Also, they have a new app which I downloaded today and it's so wonderful to keep me honest about prayer. Thank you Forest Hill for making me know God's word more and more each day. I love this church b/c the pastor is biblically accurate and the worship is very moving and that God is moving in this church. Life groups are awesome and the people are very friendly. This was an email written by the Leader of Forest Hill Church and sent to everyone who has attended a service and shared their email address. I have stopped going there because I feel that no one should impose their personal opinions on thousands of people like this. Leaders are better than this. Dear Members of the Forest Hill Family, On May 8th, North Carolina voters will vote on a Constitutional amendment to provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that will be recognized by our state. I cannot, nor will I, tell you how to vote. However, there are times when I must, by my commitment to Jesus and his Word, give you facts about issues. This is one of those times. Here are objections some are raising and my responses: North Carolina already has a law defining marriage between a man and a woman. That is true. But it's already been challenged, as early as December of this past year. The only way to prevent this definition from being changed by aggressive judges is to have this law be immutably stated in the Constitution. There will be unintended consequences from victims of domestic violence. This objection is based on appellate cases in Ohio (which states a similar perspective in its Constitution). But this challenge was overturned by Ohio's Supreme Court. North Carolina domestic violence laws already protect people, regardless of their relationships. This will continue even with this Constitutional addition. Children of unmarried couples lose their insurance coverage or custody or visitation rights if this becomes a part of our Constitution. This will not impact what employers already do. Plus, custody and visitation rights are determined by law by the relationship of the parent to the child, not the relationship between parents. How does a marriage between a man and a man or a woman and a woman hurt my marriage, or any marriage? Let's be very clear: the assault on marriage didn't begin with this amendment. It first began with the fallen human condition that always seeks our will. It was aggravated by the sexual revolution decades ago that invited promiscuity and adultery. It was exacerbated further by "no fault" divorce laws decades ago. If you want an example of where all this may go, simply look at many western European countries where marriage is considered unimportant, only 20% marrying. This view towards marriage is the natural consequence of a culture that continues to diminish marriage as God intended. Is that where we want to go? What may be next? It will be bad for business. The ten fastest growing business states in the United States all have a similar kind of statement about marriage between a man and a woman in their Constitution. What is the only one that doesn't? North Carolina. There are 30 states that have already approved a similar statement on marriage for their Constitutions. Each one was voted on by the people. The 7 that define marriage differently were all decided by the judicial branch. Finally, for followers of Jesus, the Bible - God's Word - is very clear. Marriage is not a right for humans to have. It's a gift from God, an ordinance written into creation. Its definition by God is not only for Jews and Christians, but a creation creed for all people everywhere. God defined marriage, not us! In original intent, God clearly defined his will for marriage in Genesis 2:24. Please read the verse carefully. It's what I've taught consistently over three decades of ministry. God's will for marriage is one man, one woman, in a committed heterosexual, monogamous relationship. Because of the Fall in Genesis 3, humans for centuries have tried to abrogate God's original intent. Whether it's pre-marital sex, adultery, pornography, polygamy, divorce among others, our hardened, selfish hearts deny marriage as God intended it. Whenever the prophets in the Bible saw these aberrations from God's original intent, they called God's people back to Genesis 2:24. What did Jesus think and teach? In Matthew 19, he was asked his opinion about divorce. To where did he direct people? Genesis 2:24. Although Jesus never directly addressed homosexuality per se, he did address God's intent for sexuality in marriage. He quoted Genesis 2:24 (as did Paul in Ephesians 5 when addressing marriage as God intended it). Being under his Lordship, I must too. read more

Had attended here for years before finally joining. Our pastor preaches the Word of God and the young folks there give me encouragement for tomorrow. Our senior pastor tells it like it is whenever he speaks and our campus pastor Jonathan Scott is on point with his sermons and is a great man to just speak with.
