A gigantic potato dumpling and a dollop of sauerkraut completed the plate. A nice dark bock beer from the Weltenburger brewery was a perfect pairing with the entree. The others in our group were well satisfied with their choices as well. The traditional Bavarian meals are also well above average and served in an iron skillet for effect - I enjoyed a rolled beef thing with spätzle and brussels sprouts; the mustard and bacon sauce on the sprouts made the dish work. Part of the restaurant's schtick is that it is ye olde fashioned food place (beers are served in earthenware cups instead of glasses), but no need to dwell on that; just go for the food. As with most German places, making reservations gets you a better table but they gladly accommodated our large party as walk-ins. The bathrooms don't match the rest of the place (think college bar), but they are OK. Certainly doesn't detract from the overall experience.
