They have a small food menu (snacks like chips, nuts, cheese & crackers plate), but outside food is welcome and there's a variety of local restaurants located next door and nearby that will deliver right to you in the taproom (check their website for more info on some nearby food options). They also hold fun events, so follow them on Instagram for updates. We recently visited them for their annual special event of a holiday treats & holiday ales pairing (4 treats paired with a taster flight of 4 holiday ales for $21) and it was so yummy! We even picked up a couple of vintage specialty Fortside Brewing beers in bottles to take home. The lady working the taps was so friendly & helpful, too, even with how busy they were she always had a smile on her face. They have rustic decor giving it a lodge feel inside. They also have a patio but it's not covered & I didn't see any heaters (it's December) unless I missed them or they just haven't put them out yet. 21+ only inside, with minors accompanied by a parent allowed on the patio until 9PM. Leashed dogs allowed on patio only.

They have a giant cozy fireplace, occasional live music and the community always shows up - even during a snowstorm. We came in on a snowy night and the place was still buzzing and open! Another bonus is that you can grab tacos from Loly, the yellow Mexican food cart right outside, and bring them inside to enjoy with your drinks! Steve and I had the Lemon Ginger, Elderberry, Tej ( an Ethiopian mead!), Uprooted (Oak barrel aged), Cranberry Peach and Vikings Blød. Most of the meads are local and were made in either Portland or Carson, Washington but the Viking one which came from Denmark. They also serve sake, wine and beer! I had to get the Nettle Ale which was made by 13th Moon themselves. Yes, it was wonderful also! I have had nettle ale before but not often so it was great to have it again! They have food here but more snacks stuff. We got cheese and crackers which was a nice thing to have in addition to all of our drinking! To wrap it all up Steve got some swag. A very impressive looking hoodie with a great logo of a reptilian type creature in clothes and on two feet. It was very cool! The bottles were mostly 12-oz singles like they just bought a bunch of 6-packs and are selling them individually. They were playing depressing-ass BBC nature documentaries and I legit watched a baby elephant DIE while I was trying to enjoy my beer. The icing on the experience cake, though, really was the blonde girl working. Hopefully someone will tell her that it's okay to smile and pretend to be friendly and act like you want to be working, even if you aren't and don't. They have a great rotating tap list full of the usual IPA's you find in PDX, but they also have even more esoteric stuff for the real beer connoisseurs- bier de garde, oud bruins, sours, etc. They even have a great bottle list which is always a welcome addition at a beer bar. I can't wait to return here on my next PDX trip. We were only able to stay for one round. I'd really like to spend a whole day here, chilling out and drinking great beer. They have a fantastic selection of beers on draft and an overwhelmingly phenomenal selection of bottled/canned beer that you can take home (we ended up with 6 beers in our suitcase home, although we wished we had room for 30). This bottle shop is dog friendly both inside and outside, with tons of sun outside for me to lay out while my humans enjoy themselves. They even have treats sometimes! Humans can bring food (and treats) in from outside establishments and they can drink draft ciders and beers and then take some home with us so that I can go on another walk home.

It was a great day as I also found out I got approved for an apartment I been wanting to move to for quite some time. The staff was on top of everything and the breakfast food was quite delicious along with the hot coffee. The outdoor patio is very comfortable and cozy. Some time later my sister and brother in law invited me for their winter beer fest. I have not been to one in quite a while but it was probably my favorite one in recent years. They have sessions so not be over crowded and such. We went to the afternoon session and there was plenty of seating outside. The heaters were comfy and the servers were awesome. Everyone was friendly and I didn't have to wait line for beer and cocktail pours. The food appetizers were delicious and I recommend meatball with marina sauce. The sauce is great for dipping with the fries and onion rings. As the weather starts heading to spring, I look forward to more patio gatherings, cheers!
