I was committed to letting this go and not speaking up. But after hearing about similar situations happening to another woman, I have decided to share my bad and inappropriate experience at Forbidden Images by the owner and artist Litos. I have many tattoos, and this was not my first tattoo. I had 3 sessions with Litos and each one gradually grew to be worse. My first session should have been my first sign to leave but I blew it off as his artistic ways and just let it go. But during our first break to get up and get a drink he started to massage my shoulders. I thought how weird I had never gotten a massage during a tattoo before. I walked back to the chair and just dismissed it. In my second session with him, he hinted to me I should be wearing shorts, why when the tattoo I was receiving was on my arm? The way I was positioned while he was tattooing me, had me very uncomfortable. He had my arm and hand directly at his crotch and every time I tried to move it, he would position me back. With a needle at my arm, I felt so uncomfortable and so confused. Is he really doing what I think he is doing? Lastly, my third and final session for I chose to find a new artist. When the tattoo was being done, he tried to touch my feet. Like why? My tattoo is on my arm. Then when he was wrapping my arm when it was complete, he pulled me down on his lap and put his hand on my private. Over clothes yes but 100% inappropriate. I did not go back to him nor will I. I cannot say as to the other artist at Forbidden Images, but I highly recommend you do not go there to see Litos (the owner). I just wonder how many other people he has victimized. As the more time goes on, I realize he knew exactly what he was doing. For instance, the shoulder massage, was done in the back room. The private touching was done in the office, why are you wrapping my arm in an office and not wear you tattooed me? To be off camera? Just so many questions I have now that I can think more clearly of it. He is a predator, and I was his victim. I have heard of things he did to other women that are far worse than my story. But I am speaking up to hopefully prevent anything like this happening again. read more

Having bad luck with tattoos, I went almost a decade with no new tats, but lots of tattoo removal. I had a tattoo removed from my right forearm, but there was still noticeable white cast (scarring?) from it. I got so tired of people asking me what it said (um..If I wanted you to know, I wouldn't have gotten it removed!) that I decided that I would get it covered with another tattoo.. BUT THIS TIME WOULD BE DIFFERENT!!!! I would take my time and do my research. I wanted something that included the fibonacci sequence, to represent the song Lateralus by Tool, which got me through some of my darkest times. And I wanted a lotus flower incorporated into it, as it signifies rebirth and strength. So, after around 7ish months, the first photo is what I settled on as a baseline for my tattoo. Obviously, I wanted to keep the fibonacci sequence (literally down to the dotted lines) and replace the flower with a lotus. I wanted to keep the way the black lines go unfilled when crossing through the flower. And after deciding on my very first meaningful tattoo, I then needed to find the perfect tattoo shop and artist for the job. I took SO much time looking through the portfolio's of every tattoo artist within what seemed like every single tattoo shop in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. And after 4 to 5 months, I settled on Forbidden Images Tattoo & Art Studio. I phoned the shop, left a voicemail and received a text reply. I booked a consultation with Marcus. And that's where the sh*t show starts. When I met with Marcus, I showed him the baseline photo and explained what I wanted done. But told him he could use whatever colors he thought best. After that, I showed him where I wanted it and explained that I had a very dark, black tattoo removed that consisted of and explained that my last session was in October 2017. Marcus said plenty of time had passed and we were good to go. So I put down the deposit and scheduled the appointment. OMG. My bad luck with tattoos/artists certainly didn't fail me. At the initial visit, which was around September 11th, Marcus chose to use blues, pinks and purples. From the get go, I knew the line work was BAD. I made the mistake of posting photos of it on social media and the trolls made fun of my misfortune to the point that I deleted my posts. The following day, I could see that the line work had gone from bad to WAY worse. Multiple lines had all together blown out. PLUS, I'd ALREADY lost pigment!!! I decided that maybe it just needed time to heal. After all, he'd gone over the part that was colored in at least 5 times (to the point that I was thinking to myself "is this really necessary??). Fast forward THREE weeks.. And more than half of the pigment was completely gone. The line work was HORRIFIC! And I had a tattoo that looked not only god awful, but as though it were aged 10 years. Not to mention that this tattoo looked hands down, worse than ANY of my "impulse ink". I text Marcus the 3 week post ink photo that and he blamed it on my skin and set up another appointment to fix my tattoo. At appointment #2, 10ish weeks later, Marcus looked at what was left of my tattoo and said "I don't know what I was thinking using those colors. We should have gone with pinks, purples and whites." OK... that definitely alarmed me. I knew then that he had ZERO idea what he was doing. But I'd already dropped over $400 on this freaking tattoo, so I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Yeah... THAT didn't happen. He didn't use white at all. Not that it would have made a difference. The lines I wanted to stay empty were SO BEYOND blown out, all he could do was fill them in (but they still aren't filled in and it sure doesn't look like it's supposed to be that way). He filled part of the petals entirely black. The part of the lotus that was supposed to be all black, but with soft line work, is as black as those god awful petals. There's tons of ink loss. And he missed part of the original, baseline photo that I loved most, the dotted/dash lines throughout the fibonacci sequence. I brought that up at the end of the first appointment, and he said "we'll get it at the next appointment after your skin has a break." And after the second appointment, he said the same thing. I never went back. Like my boyfriend kept saying to me: why go back to someone who f*cked up the tattoo not once, but TWICE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS TATTOO STUDIO! read more

As with most tattoo shop reviews, this one is focused on the artist that I worked with: Micaela Lydon The consultation: Loved having the opportunity to sit down and share my ideas with Micaela and then I was pleasantly surprised that she was able to get some contact paper on my leg and sketch out my vision and establish the placement. You can really tell when you have an artist that takes her craft seriously and that is hugely important to me, as I am sure it is you. Micaela is one of those artists. She was able to take my loose ideas and craft them into a beautiful piece of art that I adore. She specializes in natural pieces, but I have no doubts that she could tackle any project. We had two sessions (1st was the nautilus and second was the "wallpaper" the water geometry after the shell healed. I am extremely happy with the final product and I'm already looking to sit down with Micaela to work on the next project. read more

I had never heard of this shop, but recently went with a friend for her appointment with Stefanee and asked her about touching up an awful tattoo I had. She took a look and fit me in right after my friends appointment which was greatly appreciated! She worked wonders! I immediately set up an appointment with her to do a tattoo of my dogs paw! She gave me instructions to actually stamp my dogs paw and she would take the stamping and add some floral filler. It looks amazing and is everything I wanted! On top of being professional and amazing at her trade, Stefanee is hilarious and makes the whole expereice wonderful as well as the other artists in the shop! This shop is clean and neat as well!
