We are thrilled with the hardwood floor refinishing work done by Kevin Smith Flooring. Randall and…read moreMickey were professional, respectful of our home and easy to work with. Our floors are engineered pecan. The actual wood measures about a quarter inch. Because of this, the work was challenging. Randall explained his entire process to us before the work began. He and Mickey paid attention to every detail from start to finish. Plastic was put up around the sanding areas to limit the dust getting into other parts of the house. A special vacuum was used during the sanding process to keep the area as dust-free as possible. Then the floors were coated twice with a low luster, water-based product and we love the finish better than the shiny floor we had prior. The finished floors are beautiful and make the whole house look like new. I highly recommend Kevin Smith Flooring to refinish your hardwood floors. One of the reasons we chose this company is because floors are all they do. They are knowledgeable about everything hardwood floors. Their work is high quality with reasonable pricing. Randall goes over and above to please the customer. Pictures: All the flooring is going in the same direction. The pictures show the floors in different rooms/different angles. P.S. My location is Lititz, PA. Not sure why it's showing Providence, RI.

Stay away from this provider! I signed up on Angie's List specifically to find a good HW floor…read morerefinisher who could do it in the time frame we wanted so we could move into our new home. On our move-in day we found that most of the hardwood floors were not at all smooth, but rather had the texture of rough sandpaper due to incomplete sanding and vacuuming before putting on the varnish. Worse, the main hallway still needs to be sanded, and the laminate was installed so poorly that it is now bowing up off the floor in several areas and needs to be redone. We wanted them to either: fix the problems themselves or credit us some of the money we have already paid them so we can hire someone else to fix the problems. They have refused to do either. They want us to pay them MORE money to fix a job they messed up in the first place. In the course of filing a formal complaint with the PA Attorney General's office, I found out that their Home Improvement license is EXPIRED as of 12/11/12 but they have it listed as good until 1/15/2015 on Angie's List. Consumer, beware--don't take my word for it--take the time to check them out on the BBB and their trade license # on the Attorney General's office website. Make sure you get references and get their 100% satisfaction guaranteed IN WRITING. Unique Hardwood took our $3,800 and left us completely high and dry, despite their claim of "100% satisfaction and guarantee of all their jobs".

I'd already given the job to Gifford so I honored it. I should have known that if he were available immediately, it was a bad sign. 2- Not trustworthy. I contracted him for the job remotely and he said that he has 40+ years of experience and would be on-site. He said that he runs his own business and to trust him. The interior painter who also runs her own business and WAS on site said that he dropped off 2 guys in his truck and drove off. 3- Didn't finish the job. When I went up the day before listing the property, I noticed 1- his guys didn't paint behind the stairs. 2- There was a piece of lattice that had fallen off, gotten muddy and his guys JUST PAINTED OVER THE MUD and left it on the ground. His response was "It was like that before we started as well. We stained it propped up" Really? His guys don't think they should prep a sruface before painting it and just hammer one lattice in? I had someone I trusted there doing other work so I paid that guy $100 to correct these things and repaint the bench and deck finials which also didn't look great. I sent pictures to Gifford asking him for reimbursement (not even $100 but what he thought was fair). He didn't respond. 4-Unprofessional. Before he started the work, he mistakenly sent me a text meant for his buddy about "Coatesville women" - you can read between the lines. I should have known then.
