It is also good if your kid is not that good at the sport as it is not that competitive. Have your kid do MYS and if they are a standout player go elsewhere. The company itself is ok. The coach you get will make or break your kids experience.

Updated a former 5-star review for May 2024…read more I'm still a fan of the Club Prep project. I like its goals and enjoy its affordability. That said, my personal recommendation is that if you happen to end up on one of the volleyball teams coached by the head of the volleyball league (who I won't name here, NOT GENE.), you should run, not walk, to another team. Our experience this past season or two was that he was largely an absentee coach, delegating his Club Prep teams to other parents while he focuses on his club teams. Says playing time is merit-based, but fails to carry out that promise by maintaining loyalty to players he previously knows. The roles and playing time of these players are never questioned or in doubt, regardless of performance. Never considered developing new players into certain roles on the team that would threaten the playing time of some of the long-timers. Most everyone else is shoehorned into the few remaining positions, where playing time becomes very scarce. This is not club level, nor is it high school. There is simply no reason for every player to not get some kind of defined role on the court on game days, including tournament games. This was just our experience. The coach you get can either make or break your experience. It put a very bad taste in our mouths this past season and ruined what was previously a very positive experience in the league.

This is by far the worst league in the East Valley. Do not waste your time or money…read more My son was extremely disappointed with our experience. When a team was left without a coach, his dad stepped up to help. Instead of support, both Melanie and Coach Carson were rude and unprofessional in how they handled the situation. To make matters worse, our team had only four boys show up and they played their hearts out against a team of nine players who were able to rotate in and out. There was no effort from the league to balance the teams or offer support by lending players to make the game fair. The lack of organization and sportsmanship was very disappointing. Parents, please think carefully before signing up. Our kids deserve better support, leadership, and sportsmanship. I highly recommend North Zone out of Chandler instead.

Wow! What a nice soccer facility! Looks like there is going to be 8 full size soccer fields that…read morecan be split into 2 fields for younger ages. This is a new facility and still in construction phase. The parking lot is big and appears to hold enough vehicles for all fields attendants. A new concession stand and restroom facility are close to being operational but they have plenty of food vendors and porta-potty's for now. The fields are very nice and the grass is established. A nicely paved path splits the fields and has light poles for night games. 4 of the fields have lights in place and I'm guessing the other 4 will in the future. There is no shade structures or bleachers so bring your pop up tents and lawn chairs. But plenty of seating area for parents and fans at every field. Overall a really nice, new facility dedicated just to soccer youth.

There is a team currently dominating the fourth…read moredivision made up entirely of current university players or recent alumni from the same top-level university program. They have been doing this for at least three seasons straight, consistently finishing in the top two and winning by margins like 7 to 0, 9 to 1, and worse. Somehow they are still not promoted. This is not just bad management. It is a complete disregard for the spirit of competition. It undermines the league, insults every other team trying to develop, and spits in the face of sportsmanship. Allowing a stacked high-level team to run riot in the lowest divisions for years is not just unfair. It is pathetic. We have raised this issue with Small Goal Soccer through emails, texts, and follow-ups. Their response is a lazy shrug saying if they win this year they will be promoted. After four seasons? Really? What is the point of even having divisions if you are going to let this happen? This league has potential, but as long as it enables this kind of farce, it is nothing more than glorified target practice for teams that should not even be there. Step up. Fix it. Or stop calling it a league.

I requested to switch to the women's league as some of my teammates are outright sexist, but the league coordinator Lidia has ignored all 4 of my inquiries about it and Adam has ignored my last resort email to him as well. Now that they have my money they are completely unresponsive and there's nothing I can do about it except write this review
