Others have been great to my wife. This review is about the cafeteria down stairs by elevator 9 Over the years this cafeteria is knows to be the spot. People from business around would come to have lunch. COVID hit and like everything else things fade. Well the grill is good still freshly made. And they have fresh salads and sandwiches, sodas coffee hot chocolate and other things like chips. Older man at the grill he may not have a big giant smile but he makes a great bacon burger. Fries ask a little spice and taste great. So shout out to good food when your at PIH with someone who is spending time at the hospital Cafeteria area = 7 Grill area = 8 Cleanliness= 8 Menu = 7 Customer service = 8 Selections and condiments = 7

I honestly don't even know where to start with how terrible this emergency hospital experience was…read more Calling it "care" would be a joke. First off, the waiting time was absolutely ridiculous. I sat there for hours--yes, HOURS--while people who arrived after me were somehow seen first. No explanation, no updates, nothing. Just left sitting in an overcrowded, uncomfortable waiting room wondering if anyone even knew I was there. And the staff? Completely unprofessional and frankly disgusting in their behavior. The nurses acted like I was an inconvenience just for needing help. Eye-rolling, attitude, and zero empathy. One staff member actually spoke to me like I was wasting their time, which is insane considering this is an emergency hospital. On top of that, the place didn't even feel clean. For a medical facility, that's honestly unacceptable. It made an already stressful situation even worse. If you have any other option, go somewhere else. This place clearly does not care about patients, their time, or their well-being. Absolutely horrible experience.

Thought I would do a review on the Emergency staff at Presbyterian Whittier…read more Understand any business is busy this is medical and still a business, that being said my wife Has some on going issues that flair up at times the ER staff has never failed us in time we have Visited. There is a wait depending on the amount of people and their medical issues. Some staff is very stern And into getting the info on diagnosis others are more understanding and communicative and Fill in the blanks If your a re occurring patient as we have been they know the routing blood pressure how intense the pain, Or other info that will make helping get you seen by a doctor or practitioner. The ER nurse staff are on the Ball some aren't social butterfly's more like worker bees. Get the info draw the blood yet still make you Comfortable. Some nurses will socialize get the info and listen to your chatter. Sometimes when we are coming in for sickness or injury we are not understanding that the nursing staff is the Core of getting you better and well again. Some doctors are the same way when it comes to communication. Sometimes doctors are to the point and compassion is not there they are doing their job to help you. And their are doctors that give you the right of way to give all the info then they do their job check the heart lungs And other things, My wife and I agree that the ER staff here at Presbyterian Whittier deserve a little recognition for there ongoing Caring and work ethics in all types of issues. Also the hospital staff of nurses I give a shout out too as they have been Great and helpful, Some of the resident doctors do need a little bed side manor training. Some doctors treat you More like a car and they are mechanics. But most treat you as a human in need even older patients I as a patient my self will always recommend this hospital

Severe Neglect & Corporate Intimidation of a Transplant PatientI am an unhoused heart transplant…read morepatient on active chemotherapy for organ rejection. My immune system is completely wiped out. PIH Health Whittier Hospital severely violated California Homeless Discharge Law (SB 1152) and federal EMTALA laws during my care.First, they dumped me at a shared-dormitory respite facility (Mission Hills Recup Care) with 4 roommates--a lethal infection risk for an immunosuppressed patient. When I returned to the ER in crisis, the charge nurse tried to deny my EMTALA rights, forcing me to sit in a packed, infectious public waiting room for hours.Once finally admitted to Room 3124, PIH Social Work and Nursing Administration actively ambushed, humiliated, and gaslit me in front of a hospital chaplain. They claimed I was "the problem" for refusing a shared dorm and a 10-day motel stay in Wilmington. Even the attending physician shockingly claimed a motel is adequate care for an active organ rejection patient on chemo. This hospital used corporate intimidation to force a highly vulnerable patient into life-threatening environments. I have filed a formal emergency complaint with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Avoid this facility if you value your life. Any lawyers want to help me im willing to litigate their paychecks deserve to feel what I did.

Not sure why the reviews for this facility is not higher to be honest. Much higher. As our experience was as positive as an ER medical emergency could have been. The staff in charge of intake and triage was the sweetest and caring nurse that one can be. Followed by the resident physician on duty, Dr Collin. Dr Collin was highly knowledgeable, professional, diligent, respectful, friendly, and all around a truly intelligent medical attending. He is clearly well trained and followed through the entire consult process with efficiency and effectiveness. Very very smooth. We considered ourselves lucky to have been treated by Dr Collin. The facility was also an amazing sight. Everything was modern, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The ER was quiet and calm, unlike other hospitals. Parking was a bit tight, though. Admittedly, no one wants to go to the hospital. But we all will eventually need to for one reason or another. Accidents do happen. Illnesses do happen. St Jude Medical in Fullerton will always be our preferred first choice for an ER or other medical practitioner facility.

She ended up being admitted to the neurology wing of the hospital. Dr. Martucci, the hospitalist physician, the ER physician, and all the nurses and staff were exceptional. The food was good, the room was spacious and modern, and crucially, the care was incredible. Everyone from the MRI transport staff to the Director of Neurology approached us with kindness, proactive support and thorough medical intervention. They were all patient, answered any questions, and very capable. We never had to advocate, we were never rushed or dismissed. Thankfully my mom was discharged and will fully recover but we were so blessed by the care, dedication and precision the team at Providence St Jude took. It was the best of Catholic healthcare. Highly recommend.

The new hospital wing is amazing. Look at all the pictures. Humongous tv, nice couch, really nice bathroom, even with a shower, nice nicer shower than they usually have. Now for the four stars. The nursing staff and doctors were great. The nurses we're friendly courteous and made my visit much better. They also had nurses assistance and aids and all that stuff.. I had the same doctor came in two or three times because I had a bad infection and I have cancer so my immune system is weak, so he took really good care of it. He did a culture and found out what kind of infection sure it was. that the medicine was the best and working well before he's letting me out. This visit was like the old great Kaiser.

I would've had to wait longer had I not told the nurse either I'm seen next or I'm going to pass out, which is funny because when I arrived I thought about pretending to pass out just so I can be seen right away, but by the 6th hour mark it was becoming more and more a reality. I will say the staff mostly is helpful, efficient and empathetic. The one shoutout I want to give today, and the only highlight of my entire ordeal in this ER, is to RN Breanna (might not have gotten the spelling right here). She should absolutely get a raise. I will gladly write her a personal kudo for her files if I could. Was discharged the next morning and got a call barely 3 hours after that they missed something on my CT scan that needs attention and I need to call my primary physician to schedule an ultrasound. WHAT! I paid my full ER deductible there, which was not cheap, and now was told they missed a diagnosis, which I then had to talk to another 5 different reps, repeated the same story that happened, to finally able to receive a doctor's request 6 days later to schedule an ultrasound in another week or 2 which I will have to pay for the copay separately. All of this could've been achieved when I was in the ER and I wouldn't have to pay for it again. All in all, I'm switching insurance next year. Healthcare in America is a joke, and Kaiser is really not helping.

My father was brought here on Sunday 11.9.2025 around 4:45-5 pm…read more I arrived at Hospital it took me 2 hours to see him. I thought this time would be different due to Daniel the ER nurse. He was exceptional taking care of my father. Once he was taking to the 3rd floor on 11.10.2025 at 6AM That changed. My father was alert talking and knew what was going on. Nurse the early was Esperanza. I asked to have the dr contact me regarding my father's care. I left and went home. My aunt came later that day. My dad was lethargic was not communicating. I called the nurse stating that afternoon and spoke with Sylvia the day nurse assigned to my father. Was not informative and said I have other patients to tend to. I came to see my father at 8 pm during visiting hours he was asleep. He was clammy and cold. I went to nurse stating to speak with someone regarding my father's care and the plan. They said would notify my father's nurse. Dolores was his nurse she came said she had to take care of something and would be right with me. She walked into the nurse's station sat down and turned to the other nurse in there started talking. When she realized I was standing there watching her she picked up the phone and acted like was calling someone. She came out and said Mary how can I help you. I corrected her and gave her my name. Asked was I not contacted by the Dr. regarding my father. She said oh did you ask for that. I said Yes. She then said we have no control over what the Dr. do. I asked what the plan is for my dad's care and she stated that they were monitoring him. I asked how a consultation was done if my father was lethargic during this time. All Dolores kept repeating is we are monitoring him. I then asked for the Charge Nurse Onyx she was no help either. Not once did either one say we can contact the night dr to see what was happening or if there was a plan in place. I had to leave in hopes that my father would be ok the next day. While I was in conversation with Dolores and Onyx there was a patient screaming for a nurse and no one went to assist. On 11.11.2025 I called the director Sandra Flores left her a message regarding my father's care. Still did not receive a return call.
