My usual tech has recommended other techs when she thought they might be a better fit for a specific issue. The actual massage rooms are better equipped than any others that I have been in. Top of the line tables, hot or dry towels in the room and pleasantly decorated. One issue I have is they will only use their oils and other materials. My retired former tech would use Biofreeze and other treatments as needed. She also used lotion for my dry skin, sometimes with her oil for proper viscosity.

They started me off with the foot massage which was divine. It was hands down one of the best foot massages I've had this year. After a brief wait, another masseuse came in and I was asked to turn over so that she could work on my back. Thinking they start off with the back and then finish with the front, I turned over. The back massage, which ended with a hot stone massage, was good. The reason for my 4 stars was not because of the quality of the massage (I enjoyed them and plan on returning) but because I was expecting a full body massage, not just a back massage - and I think that expectation/anticipation made it a bit disappointing for me. Regardless, I'm returning again in January for a full body massage (already booked!) to see whether or not it's a back massage only or the full deal. More than nice I thought things like 'what on earth is she doing to my arm for so long when I told her to just focus on my back knot' - I tell you that back knot was a long time reoccurring problem that no one has ever solved so completely in a single session like the educated woman at Absolute Body Balance (ABB) did that day. Secondly, there are many wonderful options when it comes to mind and body restoration yet main stream society locks in on the single notion of kneading our muscles like bread for any problem. I think exploring the types of services offered at ABB would really help people get more from their visits. I personally love the Thai massage. It is unique - like yoga and body positioning being done to you on a matter floor with comfy clothes on. I have been fortunate enough to have it done in Thailand before but this is the only American service I have experienced that has come close to its authenticity and benefit. She has been my acupuncturist for more than twelve years (my old lady memory sometimes fails me!), so she is definitely experienced and has extensive knowledge of anything you could possibly throw at her. She truly cares about your well being and progress. I've had several tension and trigger point issues in the past, and serious hip issues over the past couple years. Getting regular acupuncture and cupping treatments has been crucial to my comfort level. If you've never had acupuncture it's incredibly relaxing, considering it is needles going into your body! It feels almost like a little tap (every once in a while there is a really tight area that is slightly uncomfortable for a second or two), and then you get a 20 minute nap under an infrared light in the middle of the day! I almost always fall asleep I'm so relaxed. So great!! Cupping sounds weird, but is amazing for pulling the toxins and tension from your muscles. It's oddly relaxing, leaves round "caterpillar" marks that go away in a couple days depending on how much you need detoxed, and only takes a few minutes. I've sent several friends and family members to her and they are all thrilled with the difference in how their body feels immediately.
