I regularly receive deep tissue massages, so I am familiar with strong pressure. The issue was not the intensity, it was the technique. At multiple points, it felt like she was pressing or hitting directly on my bones rather than working on the muscles, which made the session painful and concerning. I found myself having to guide the therapist on what to do, which made the entire experience uncomfortable. I did not feel at ease at any point during the massage. Unfortunately, I am leaving with a headache and lingering pain rather than feeling relaxed. Although I was not satisfied, I still chose to leave a $5 tip. When I did, she responded by saying "no, no" and questioning the amount. That reaction was unprofessional and unacceptable.

I know that there are several other clients that have been following her the same way, and I hope they will be able to find her at this new place soon. I am sure Krystal can do other types of massage that are more pampering. What I value, and what very few of massage therapists can do really well, is a real therapeutic massage. Some people call this type of massage a "sports" massage, where she would work on all the muscles individually. This type of massage is really helpful when you overwork your muscles or when they get "stuck" due to improper warm-up or awkward load, resulting in a stiff neck or back. I am glad she has left the previous place as that was a mediocre establishment, even though this new location is a bit father away for me.

Although she was nice, I don't know that any of my muscles were really worked, rather shocked. Besides doing this very odd technique of "working an area" and then wiping off all of the massage lotion used with a scratchy rag, she did this painful jujitsu-like massaging on my neck! I really wanted to relax, but I felt I had to be on guard the entire time. Luckily the gym was closed during my session so I at least didn't have any noise. Unfortunately due to the masseuse's lack of technique or training, the first time I got to relax was when it was over. Both my boyfriend and I went in on two separate visits (due to a Greg's Text deal) and we had the same therapist. He went in the day before I did and had not only the same bad massage, but experienced really bad dehydration the next morning. I asked if he drank the water they gave him after his massage and he said they never game him any or told him to keep hydrated (which is common knowledge to any masseuse). Sure enough, after my massage I was given no water, and when I mentioned to my masseuse how important it was to hydrate after a massage she acted like that was interesting information she'd never heard before. Thank goodness we got these at half price, but I would highly suggest to anyone considering the same deal to put that cash towards one of the many other trained and great massage therapists we have here in College Station.

I had 2 really painful weeks but after the massage, I had the best week ever or at least in a really, really long time. I did not even know I could feel as well as I feel now.
