I was a patient of Dr. Ray for several years. I have toenail fungus and he tried to help (with no…read moreluck) with different methods (drugs, toenail removal, nail bed scraping). I know fungus can be hard to get rid of so I wasn't upset with him for that but... I had an ingrown toenail and went to see him. He decided that the best course of action was to cut 1/4 of my nail off and cauterize. This has resulted in an open side to my nail that is not only unattractive but the fungus was able to go further down my toenail... ok, no big deal at my age and with my fungus. My daughter who 20ish with beautiful feet and nails went to see him because she got an infection at a nail salon when on vacation. I told her don't let him cut her nail off. She was there an hour and I was starting to get concerned so I called her. She said that he was going to cut her nail and cauterize... I told her to leave. She said she already allowed him to numb her toe... I told her "GET OUT!" She left with a numb toe. She put Neosporin on her toenail for three days and the infection was cleared up.

Granted I'm about 1/5 the age of the average podiatry patient, but hey, when you got messed up…read morefeet, gotta take care of it. Dr. Daniel Gabe is, simply put, The Man. He is possibly the most knowledgeable doctor I've ever dealt with; he's to the point, confident in his abilities, and runs a tight ship with his staff and offices (the other one is in Orland Park by the mall). He performed two surgeries, one on each of my heels, and that spelled the end of the problems. He came in on the day after Christmas in 2000, when the office was closed, to do my post-surgery followup. While we were there, my mom asked him about the problems she'd been having with her thumb including the recent surgery done by some arrogant prick doctor who just made it worse. He wanted to do an ultrasound on her thumb; he did, and told her exactly what the hand doctor had done wrong. Mind you, he's a foot doctor and this was his day off... The guy just has a passion for what he does, and it shows. Highly recommended.

I can tell you sincerely he is as caring and warm as he is skillful. I am thankful for his care and the fact that I no longer walk in pain at all, and I have seen several other Podiatrists without achieving this. In one case I had to wait 45 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time, but it was well worth it.

I'm so happy that I came across Lincoln Foot and Ankle Center when I was experiencing toe pain. Dr…read more Heidi Hoffman is amazing! I searched throughout my insurance network and this was the one podiatrist office that didn't complicate getting an appointment. I was able to get an appointment with only a short wait time. The office is located in a convenient location, it's right off Lincoln Ave and a block off Damen. There is a train stop, Irving Park, not to far from the office and several buses run near the office. It was easy to get to the office. During my visit I was paired with Dr. Heidi Hoffman, she is amazing! I arrived a few minutes before they opened and Dr. Heidi Hoffman allowed me to come in so I didn't have to wait outside. She was friendly and very educational. As I mentioned above, I came into the office for toe pain that was making it hard to use shoes. She listened to my issue and quickly noticed what could be causing the pain. She was able to give me a instant short-term pain relief and gathered whatever was needed for additional tests. She was also able to help me understand more things about my foot. After the appointment, I was updated roughly a week later about the results of the test and given instructions on how to deal with the continuous toe trauma that she discovered. It's been a few months and my toe barely aches when I put on shoes. I can press on the toe that had the issue and it doesn't hurt. It was the complete opposite a few short months ago. I would highly recommend coming to Lincoln Foot and Ankle Center for all of your needs.

I have terrible foot pain during my maternity leave. I saw a foot doctor who had me in and out in…read more15 minutes, gave me no care plan or follow up steps. Then a few days later called to say he ran my insurance and xyz is what would be covered for custom orthotics and asked when could I come in for measurements. It felt shady so I decided to go somewhere else. Then I went to Dr. Hoffman. She spent a lot of time with me. She took x-rays and went over them with me. We talked about my foot shape and what I should be looking for in a shoe. She recommended going to Fleet Feet for a (free) foot measurement and shoe consultation. She then made a conservative plan of treatment (better shoes, stretches, PT) that could be elevated to custom orthotics if this doesn't work. She diagnosed a nerve issue that can only really be treated by PT/form change while exercising (aka not orthotics). She was encouraging of PT ASAP because as I've had a baby this year...I've already hit my insurance out of pocket max. It's a small thing but just made me feel confident that she was looking out for my best interests. She also gave me personal anecdotes about her own experience with plantar fasciitis as it related to my own case that made me feel hopeful and like I won't be in pain forever. I really value feeling "cared for" by the medical professionals I see, and this is what I got from Dr. Hoffman.
