I imagine this place would look and smell cleaner on a non-rainy day, so I can't be that rough on Foodmet.
You can find just about anything when it comes to meat and veg here. The selection is pretty intense including even tropical fruits at fairly reasonable prices. Highlights being a lot of the tastiest satsuma oranges I've had in a long time.
The market has outdoor vendors and indoor vendors. They more or less sell similar fruit and veg, with some variances. Inside there are cured meats, seafood, every kind of cut of meat to innards along with another helping of the veg/fruit vendors from outside. You can also find nuts, cheeses, and olives by the barrels. The vendors for the most part are pleasant despite super busy handling customers constantly. The place is also pretty packed, and if you're taking public transportation it would be wise to carry a small rolling cart to hold all your purchases. They also sell these on-site.
After shopping, we stopped off to a small cafe inside Foodmet and got a few treats before we were off again to catch the train. read more
