I was in da Kaneohe neighborhood visiting my dentist today, and upon finishing up my appointment, I decided to head on over to Windward City Shopping Center to check out one of my FAVORITE local plate lunch joint. Unfortunately for me, da plate lunch place I wen' check out wen' run out of what I was looking for (insert Sad Panda face) so I made a quick detour to Foodland instead, to spy on da Frrrrrrried Chicken. Upon walking into Foodland, you gotta past da Bakery before getting to the Hot Foods/Deli section, and of course, I got sidetracked again when I saw those Pistachio Muffins Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! So tempting, but since I didn't finish eating da last batch of Pistachio Muffins I bought last week Thursday, I figah I better cool it wid' da Pistachio Muffins. Lol! Now going back to da Frrrrrrried Chicken, well, I didn't get that either, because I remembered yesterday's massive Garlic Chicken Plate I had pounded from Hawaiian BBQ House, so guilt set in about getting more Frrrrrrried Chicken. At da end of da day, no can go wrong with Foodland's poke, and a Spicy Ahi poke bowl was my meal of choice. For you folks who are poke fans, Foodland sure does a great job, and they offer many types of poke, too. The store at Windward City Shopping Center has seen better dayz, but as old looking as the store is, it is well organized and clean. Service at Foodland is great, as the cashiers are friendly. If I lived on the Windward side, I could see myself coming to this store on a regular basis, as I firmly believe in shopping local and support local when you can.

Great poke selection and great quality! Got the shoyu and Hawaiian style poke. Very clean and well staffed store. Conveniently located in a strip mall.

Date of visit: July 23, 2023 Location: Shared plaza with other stores Parking: Free parking in the shared lot Offerings: Groceries Ready to eat foods Non-food essentials Selections: Poke and Wonton Chips Desserts Experience: Our group came here per the suggestions of others that have come for the poke, so we had to give it a try. We got a few poke to try, marinated crab, wonton chips, and a few dessert and drink items to compliment our meal. I enjoyed going up and down the aisles to see what they have since everything seems so different to me as a California native. As we were about to check out, we accidentally dropped the marinated crab that we got and the store clerks were quick to clean up our mishap and get a replacement for us. We decided to hunker down at a nearby beach to setup camp and eat. My favorite of the poke we got was the creamy based one and it tasted great with the wonton chips we got. The pink and white Mochi dessert we got reminded me of a Filipino dessert called espasol, so that hit home for me in my childhood memory bank.

Great spot to grab poke and other hot food items before going to the beach. The poke is priced per pound and depends on the flavor and type of fish you get. If it is busy, you can grab a ticket and wait for your number to be called.

We heard from several locals that Foodland grocery stores are where the locals go to get their poke. Upon arriving here and finding 10 people in line at the poke counter, I believe they were right. There was a large selection of poke and you can get two for a poke bowl. We got a Poke Bowl with Poke Spicy Maui Onion Ahi & Poke Ahi Oyster Sauce. While I can't say this was the best poke we had in Hawaii, it was some damn good poke. And you can't beat the price. We got a huge poke bowl for $10 which is less than half the price you'll pay at any restaurant. Foodland is a must try for poke in my opinion!

Review is for poke! For the price, I can't complain. The quality was pretty good and they give such a large amount. Lots of different flavors available and super quick service. Perfect for on the go poke!

Beautiful produce

Poke sucks, they can't measure a quarter pound or half pound always way over or way under. Not quality fish.

Having been a loyal customer for year's it's i sad to see…read morethe deterioration of the Kaneohe Store. I have noticed the lack of cashiers, only one was present when I went on 2/10/ 2026, & the line was getting long. Customers use self checkout usually when they have not to many items. The man in the managers booth, whom I have seen cashiering before, wasn't moving! What a shame! Management where are you!!! The prices are awful, example : almost $20 .00 for a 24 pack of Diet Coke! Go look around , & check food items out for yourself! The parking lot is always full & it's difficult to get a decent space upfront, unless you go all the way in back of the store near the trash dumpsters. Won't be going to Times Kaneohe any more, unless I need to!

DEALAGES Yo! I…read morereligiously look at the online Times Supermarket ads every Wednesday, but I have to remember to check out da Super Tuesday DEALAGES! I just so happened to come across their Tuesday DEALAGES ad and boy did Times Supermarket really have an AWESOME Tuesday ad! $0.99 per pound for Fuji Apples, $0.79 for a can of Chicken of the Sea tuna (good for making my home lunch sandwiches), and a small poke bowl for just $4.99! Man, I really cleaned house this afternoon as I picked up all three items! Lol! The Kaneohe Times Supermarket is not a store that I would frequent (as I normally shop at the Kaimuki, McCully, or Kahala locations), but since I was working across the street from the Kaneohe store, I'd figure I'd check the Kaneohe store out. The Kaneohe store looked well organized, not overly spacious, but the store appeared well stocked. They even had a section within the store where they had a lot of Asian food items. Variety is a good thing! When I picked up my poke bowl I had to ring a buzzer for service, & a super friendly clerk came out to help me. I wished I had gotten his name, as good service should always be recognized. So happy I stopped by the Kaneohe store today, and if ever am I in the area again, garans I would stop by again for da DEALAGES!

I read a yelp review earlier today talking about the deli manager talking loudly to her workers . I…read moredid hear the deli manager talking loudly to her employees but not once did I hear her calling her employees names. She is always respectful and nice to me and my family every time we go there. I hope everyone reads this comment.I am only responding to this because that review about Jamie is not true. But I wanted to shine some light on something that I witnessed today while standing in line waiting for my chicken . I was standing behind a Karen who was mouthing off to the deli manger being rude and obnoxious, budding in trying to tell the deli manger how to run her deli when clearly she was doing her best with the little helped she had. She even went as far as cutting the deli manger off when she was trying to correct her own employee just to make sure the customers was being told the right information. There was no time at all did I ever hear this poor manger call any of her employees out of their name or use any disrespectful slur.. It broke my heart because at the end of the day this poor manger was just doing her best to serve her customers and keep everyone happy even the rude ,angry and impatient ones . . I feel Safeway higher up needs a better protocol for things like this because this is unacceptable their employees let alone a manger shouldn't have to put up with rude and disrespectful customer and still try to serve them. After getting my chicken i got the manger name but wasn't able to speak with her personally because she was super busy . I just wanted to say JAMIE you did amazing girl holding yourself together and professional even when you had a line of rudeass Karen's in front of you . I also called Safeway to let them know how wonderful you were and how they are lucky to have you.
