In the midst of writing this the name change got approved, wow Yelp you're on it up here.
The problem with Bi-Lo is that you still find it necessary to go to the Publix that's about a mile away. We were getting supplies for making salad and pizza, and our dressing called for orange juice...so of course, why not just buy an orange? Except one orange was $1.29. Seriously. I realize it's October and all and not exactly orange time but we ended up with 4 pounds of oranges because that bag was $1 a pound and you're probably paying double that with the individual oranges. Just stuff like that in the produce section drives me up a wall, and I don't even think Publix has very good prices on produce in the first place. And Bi-Lo seems to embrace the whole we've got great produce growing in this region thing better too.
And don't get me started on how they are selling Boursin for $7.50, even Whole Foods isn't that outrageous.
But overall I'd rather get a lot of stuff here, I see they have picked up slightly on the Kroger buy x amount of items on this list, get $5 off. They also have my brother's favorite type of sale, where you usually buy a pizza or two and get carbs, more carbs, ice cream, and some soda for free.
Coming from my local grocery store being super tiny this place is like amazing with all its options. Also it has a shockingly large beer selection but I guess when you don't have to dedicate any space to wine, why not.
The only downfall is how much I hate the baggers here. First we were bagging stuff ourselves because one who wasn't doing anything was just staring off in space. Then the cashier got mad at him and made him come over and I seriously could have kept on doing better myself. read more
