My first time at Fogo De Chão and it is in Brazil so I had high expectations since everyone loves this place in the US. I did not love it. Considering the price I did not get enough of the meat servings when the waiters came around. I had the green circle flipped. They came to my friends and bypassed me if I was not looking at them. I thought the circle handles if you want more food. You can check it out if you are visiting but I would not be dying to return. The ambiance was okay though. And the servers were friendly. But I think I missed most of the options during the Full Experience. I had to eat off of my friend's plates at times if the waiter skipped me.

It's expensive for a Brazilian restaurant but when you compare it to NYC steakhouse its a great sitting. The mixed meat all you can eat dinner is 140 reis so about 40 a person. They had filet mignon, prime rib, ribs, sausages, chicken hearts (a bit too exotic for me to try) but all and all great quality grilled food. They also have the sides all you all you can eat so plenty of rices, potatoes, assortment of salads, cheeses/cold cuts, beans, etc. Only knock is I wish they offered more sauces to pair with the meats.

The restaurant kept the tradition of being amazing. All the meat was realli fresh and tasted delicious. the desserts were amazing. No complains at all!

This place was recommended by our hotel. The atmosphere is nice. You may have a beautiful Lake view. However I didn't feel comfortable at that restaurant. The waiters are kinda arrogant. I've never experienced such an behavior before in any other churrascaria. At some point they stopped serving us any more meat and ignored our table. They also tried to charge us more drinks than we had. Also expect to pay a lot for their buffet. It's not really worth the money. A place I wouldn't come back.

PICANTE CUT ALL DAY, ERRDAY. I can literally eat 20 slices of just this meat the entire sitting. The chimichurri sauce that came alongside our meal was amazing. The service was superb. The buffet offering was a Class A act. A high-quality, well-rounded meal for just a fraction of the cost compared to what you'd pay in NYC. I would not change a thing.

When asking several people, including the driver, what would be the best restaurant in Rio, the unanimous decision is Fogo, so we had to try it even though there is one smack in the middle of Addison, TX and soon to be in Plano too. The quality of meats and level of service is several notches above their location in Addison location (but Father's Day 2017 will still be celebrated there). They have the Best Mango Mousse that for some reason got removed from the US menu ages ago. Great view of the bay from their deck.

They did not keep "green-red" card rule and constantly asked us about meat even though our card was showing red by interrupting us from our conversation. Not attentive stuff. I felt biased after this restaurant because of some service details. The servant did not know much about wine list to recommend. Had so much expectations and was so disappointed.

While in Brazil, you learn quickly that the locals love steak and I love steak so figured this would be a fun trip. We decided to come to Carretao which is a rodizio style Brazilian restaurant. Once seated inside the weight staff try the very best to explain to us how everything works. You're given a disc which is right on one side and green on the other side as long as the green side is showing the staff will continuously bring different cuts of delicious meats to your table and slice you off some samples. There was an open salad bar, which was loaded with fresh salads and little appetizers, but the main attraction was the never ending Daisy chain of meats. I was in heaven, and I enjoyed every moment of it. My only complaint about this restaurant was that I definitely bought my appetite and after sometime, I noticed that the staff stopped coming to the table with the prime cuts of meat, but would only come with the less desirable cuts this didn't bother me too much because I definitely ate more than my fair share lol. I would absolutely come here again. The price was amazing. The staff was friendly and at the end of dinner we got some delicious dessert shots, which were quite a treat.

As with most other reviews mention, our stop here was for lunch on a day tour that was included in the price of the tour package. Every other group of diners also appeared to have been there in that capacity. Cruzeiro definitely felt almost like a cafeteria, with super white walls, tables, and decor. There is a swimming pool outside, that I am not sure what it's connected to, so that was odd. They did have the normal steakhouse Gauchos walking around with spokes of meats and food, and there were some side items in the middle of each table to share among the diners. Aside from the ambiance not being as upscale as other steakhouses we tried in Rio, the quality of meats also wasn't quite as top notch as the others either. Some were pretty fatty and others were sort of flavorless. I apologize sort of for comparing this to other highly acclaimed Brazilian Steakhouses, but it's hard to be impressed with Cruzeiro do Sol after trying those others. After reading other reviews, it appears that this steakhouse exists solely for the use of tours to offer a "lunch" option as part of the package. I would save your money (about $35 USD if you eat there outside of a tour) and eat elsewhere. Churrascaria Palace was only a tad bit more than that, and the ambiance and service there was ten times higher quality than that of Churrascaria Cruzeiro do Sol.

It is VERY popular and I'm sure being recommended by Bourdain has a lot to do with it. The first time we tried to eat there the wait was over an hour long. We went sometime after 1AM and there was still a decent wait, maybe close to 30 minutes. The place is pretty small and cramped, but that gives it some charm. Somehow that makes the food taste even better. We ordered a little bit of everything and it was all amazing. Chicken, steak, fries, garlic bread, polenta. It's a solid restaurant that serves up pretty good chicken. In fact I ate here twice in a week, the first time to try it out and the second time because it was late at night and they are open until 5AM. Both times I was here it was timed right and I didn't have to wait for a table. The employees were accommodating to a tourist like myself who has a limited Portuguese vocabulary. They also have English language menus although I do like to navigate a menu in another language just to see what I can recognize. Both times I had the chicken with the garlic and pepper sauce as well as pão de alho. The chicken was perfect, juicy and very flavorful. And plenty of garlic. The garlic bread was delicious and had plenty of garlic. I love garlic so it was great for me but I can see some people saying it may be too much garlic. Batatas fritas were good as well. There was more I wanted to try but I will definitely be back the next time I am in Rio de Janeiro. This place has been around for decades so it should still be around on my next visit.

This place was nice but if you're a foreigner - I would suggest visiting Churrascaria Palace near Copacabana instead. We loved it so much we went twice during our one week stay in Rio. The service was 100x better, many more cuts of steak coming around, amazing salad bar, and the ambience was just as nice. Also more foreigner friendly. **Knocking four stars off service specifically for the two hostesses up front (Jan 27 '26). Upon entering, they immediately gave each other a weird look making us feel weird, uncomfortable, and not welcome. They looked me up and down and exchanged judgmental looks upon entering and once again as we were leaving after our meal. As a classy restaurant, I expect a warm welcome from a hostess who carries that same classy standard in her demeanor and behavior.

I kept my expectations tempered, as people online said that in the end the best quality meat will not be at a churrascaria, so you're going more for the AYCE experience rather than the actual best cuts of meat. Overall, I had a great time - the restaurant was beautiful even at night (I heard in the day, there's a stunning view of Sugarloaf Mountain). The meats were free flowing - it might have helped that the table was close to the kitchen, so servers would come very quickly. It was pretty much exactly the experience I was looking for. They provide cards so that you can ask which cut of meat it is if it's not clear (and if you can't speak Portuguese). I was able to try a bunch of different cuts until I was fully stuffed. I will say I never requested a specific cut, and have heard that it might take some time if you are just looking for specific items.
