These stores are throughout Europe and are full of tat that I could never conceive of buying but they are doing something right as there are close to 1000 stores selling Pride goods, Arts & Crafts, Party & Gifts like pencil sharpeners in the shape of a human nose to decision making balls and 3D anatomical models of the human heart.
They are bright and airy stores and very pleasant to stroll around. Lots of bright colours enhance it's appearance.
I was surprised to find they sold snack food too. I spotted flying saucers (sherbet wafers) that my mum bought me over 60 years ago. The ones I got way back were made in Belgium, these in Denmark and they had cheese tortillas too but while I bought half a dozen we gave them away to the crew on our cruise ship.
The name is from the Danish pronunciation of tiger that sounds roughly similar to how they pronounce the word tier used to denote a 10 kroner coin. When they first opened in Denmark all items cost 10 kroner. read more
