Wait until renovations are complete!
While they do say on their website:
"Please note that due to rebuilding, some parts of the museum are closed."
What they do not say is that the "some parts" comprises 2/3rds of their collection! When they will be done with the renovations, it is not clear, just some time in 2022.
I have to deduct a couple stars for such a big impact not being made known, but aside from that, it really is a decent museum overall. The aircraft that were accessible are adequately spaced apart so you can wander around them.
Pros:
- Bus stops in either direction directly in front of the museum, and a large parking lot
- Museum restaurant is really good
- DC-3 Exhibit
- Captions for the Swedish documentaries
- Free Admission
Cons:
- 2/3rds of the aircraft being inaccessible
- Most of the non-aircraft exhibits were only in Swedish
If you have the option, I would visit the Aeroseum in Gothenburg until the renovations are complete at this museum. read more
