The only things I needed to bring were tablecloths, the cake, and whatever food I wanted besides the pizza they provide. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly helpful. Jermaine in particular was awesome. They helped me unload my car, put out my very minimal decorations, and even put together the cheap Amazon banner I brought with me. There is SO much to keep the kids entertained, including unlimited arcade games, inflatables, and a huge amount of open space for the kids to run around and play. It was perfect for a group of energetic 3-year-olds! Jermaine even led the kids in games, and you can genuinely tell that he loves what he does. The prizes he gives out are actual, full-size prizes--not just little trinkets--which the kids absolutely loved. They cut the cake and handed it out for me, and when the party was over, they loaded all the presents, leftover pizza, and cake onto a cart so I could easily get everything to my car. I barely had to lift a finger! Another huge plus is that this is one of the only birthday party venues I found that doesn't charge per child. It's one flat fee for as many kids as you want, which makes planning so much easier. If you're looking for a birthday party venue where you can actually relax and enjoy your child's party instead of running around doing everything yourself, I cannot recommend Jefferson Indoor Sports enough. **No notes. We will absolutely be back!**

My workout preference is one that doesn't feel like working out, i.e. volleyball, kayaking, dancing on pool tables. Those sort of things. So I'm not a yoga, pilates, "lets really think about this stretch" sort-of-exerciser. I'm also horrible at a gym membership 'cause no one is going to crack the whip on me to go there if it's not intentionally put on my schedule. I think City Surf is the perfect fit for me in this regard. I'm not an early bird, and they have classes that fit for my schedule at 8:30 am, and if I book, I'm committed to going. The two classes I really like are Beach Body Bootcamp* and City Surf*. IF you are a yoga type, or want to do more muscle-building, they have other courses and you can get a sneak peek of what they look like on their site if you want to set expectations. Each person in the class is assigned a surf board that is on top of three fitness balls. It's not as unbalanced as a real surfboard might be in the water but still takes a second to master some of the moves on top of the board. My balance was for shiz at first, but I can tell even from my last couple of classes, that it's improving. The classes are only 50 minutes long, and like their mantra says, it really is a no pressure environment. While you are in a class, it's really easy to focus on what you're doing and the instructor is there more so to guide you through the workout. There's no calling anyone out if you get winded (which I do), slow your pace, or need to adjust what you're doing. The music is great to workout to, and at the end you get a nice cooling towel placed on you face (I'm totally into it). You do need grippy socks (which they sell) for the boards, and I would suggest if you have sweaty palms (like this lady) maybe also get some grippy gloves so you can properly do the exercises. I like that I'm sore in places I never knew I could be sore, but not so sore that it's debilitating. If you think the classes are a little pricey they do have some great introductory rates, and they'll throw a deal out there every now and then. I am excited to work up to pea shooters from my current state of slingshots, and see where I can go from there! ;) Beach Body Bootcamp - Cardio based class designed to make you sweat and burn calories. City Surf - Their signature class featuring surf inspired movements utilizing surfer specific muscle groups.

When we got there, we weren't really sure where to park but I called them quickly and they told me where we could go and the area looks really sketchy to be honest. There's like a painted sign with arrows telling you where to go in a warehouse, probably not the best place to go after dark, but the room for the silks is right there to the left when you walk in the garage door and Alex was there waiting for us. It's definitely a little bit of a workout and I was sweating a bit too but it's a great activity to do with your girlfriends and you get a lot of action shots while you're up in the air. You get a complimentary fruit or dessert tray with the party and we also paid for the charcuterie board and they were great snacks between your turn on the silks. We also had a group picture with the big ring that I sat on in the air as Alex posed everyone else and she sent the pictures to us after as well. Alex was super accommodating and worked with me with the booking and she was the one who instructed us and was very helpful to anyone who was struggling or uncomfortable. When you book a private party like that, I think you also get a discount for the next class you take so some of us are very excited to come back and do it again! You'll feel really graceful and confident while you're in the air with the silks. I had good reviews from all my ladies.

Most places didn't seem very kid friendly. Then I found Yonsei. They were extremely friendly and invited us in for a free lesson to try it out. I was hooked by the instructors ability to connect with her right away since she can be quite shy. They have an unreal flexible schedule for the kiddos. They expect you to make 8 clases per month but you can take up to 12. There are about 10-12 classes offered per week for her age group and the classes are 45 minutes each. There are several instructors at each class and they give the kids a lot of personal attention. The only downside is that you have to make a minimum of 6 month comittment which can be tough when dealing with youngins. They do let join for 1 month to see if your kid wants to actually do it before comitting to the full 6 months. I did this to make sure my daughter wanted to stick with it. She loves it and looks forward to it each week. Hopefully we will be going for years to come and my Brooki-son gets her black belt.
