Susan Witt is the counselor that left me an my family hanging. We approached her in hopes to get some family sessions in and only got one all together before she split me and my sister off from my mom and dad. I trusted her to do her work and thought it was just how she managed her sessions. Reminder that we went for 'Family' counseling and not just for my parents. After a couple of sessions with my parents she proceeded to tell my mother that she doesn't think she should see my sister and I anymore (after one brief session) and she made the sessions strictly for my mom and dad, leaving us out of it all. My mother called back to reschedule a session and left her a voicemail. Susan did not call back or reach out to check up and left me and my family completely in the dark. It has been well over a month and she has yet to make any effort to get in contact with my parents. This to me is incredibly unprofessional and considering she is someone who we went to to seek help from, I am not okay with this. She is lucky that my family and I are not completely unstable and are able to do okay on our own. I could not imagine if she did this to a family that wasn't too well off in their relationships and were dependent on her to help them. Counselors are supposed to be there for you and help you in times of need and she did the complete opposite. I would have had so much more respect if she would've just told my mother and father that she did not believe she was a good fit for us but she didn't even say a word. She just ghosted my family. To anyone who is looking for someone stable and dependable, I would keep looking.
