I ordered flowers for my wedding and when I arrived in the morning to pick them up, they had sold them to someone else!

There isn't a lot of selection in that area, but I had seen Gingerlily and decided to check it out. I am so glad that I went into the little flower shop. The shop was decorated for Christmas and smelled of fresh flowers, I love that scent. I also found an ornament, a beautiful snow flake, which was a bonus. After looking around I found a bouquet of purple flowers and couldn't resist. I love fresh cut flowers and the owner's arrangements are brilliant, plus she's very friendly and we chatted for a bit while she rang up my purchases. The shop also sells cards, not a very large selection but a large enough selection where you can find a card to go with the flowers you just purchased. I saw several other floral arrangements I liked but decided I couldn't leave the store with everything and happily left with my flowers and snowflake.

Particularly if I am going somewhere for supper or something. For some reason their flowers seem to last for tons longer than any other florist I buy from, the owner says it is because she goes to the flower market most mornings so the stock is very fresh. I think they always have a really lovely range and she will make you bouquets up to any price, starting from about £5. Also she sells a few orchids and pot plants. The place looks gorgeous, and has pretty pretty walls with vintage mirrors up, and there are a few really lovely touches like the stamp on the brown paper wrapping they use on the flowers. Often there is a little cat in the shop too. I don't think he lives there, but he adds to the ambience! I highly recommend Gingerlily Flowers to anyone.

The shop is open quite late (around 7pm) and so is perfect for last minute flower dashes. The two women who work there are very sweet and helpful and even at the end of the day when they don't have too much stock left, they can always manage to put together a decent bouquet. It isn't quite as smart as the flower shop towards the park end of Church Street, but it is a lot cheaper.

This florist decorates its section of Church Street fantastically and has even inspired the kind of occasional random flower buying on my part that makes me suspect I am growing middle aged just through living in Stoke Newington and seeing all the old people. They're just so pretty though (the flowers). There is a wall of foliage and flower of almost every conceivable variety in this store, orchids overhang the till and lilies send out an aroma strong and delicious enough to rival the smells of Fresh and Wild soup coming from the other side of the road. the service is professional and friendly and they deliver, so if you really messed up, the flowers will get home before you do.

DON'T USE THIS FLORIST !!! POOR QUALITY OF FLOWERS ? APPALING SERVICES !!!…read moreThe Bouquet of flower received was smaller than the one ordered from the website, flowers were similar and some flowers arrived in poor conditions. I called the Florist, Kevin, and said I would like to complaint about it, I took pictures form the day of arrival and 3 days later and sent to him. He called me back and said there was nothing wrong with it and I disagree and he called me "an asshole" !!!! Rude, inappropriate and unprofessional. I will take sure my Hackney friends will not buy there.

Initial complaint that took 3 email chases for me to get a reply to: Extremely unhappy with order.. First off specified note to deliver sometime in morning, ended up getting a call at 10pm at night just as I was going to bed to say flowers are being delivered now. Delivered at 10pm on the day it was supposed to arrive? The day / celebration is long gone and over, surprise ruined. Also, I paid not only for deluxe, but the most premium (fullest version) of the flower arrangement, what I received was an 'arrangement' of half dead flowers that were so sparse it wouldn't even suffice for the normal version, much less the deluxe or premium! On top of it all, it was addressed to 'Mr.' Helen...Completely ruined the surprise and will be expecting a full refund! Do not recommend at all!! When company finally replied they completely absolved themselves of anything wrong, actually trying to say that it's my fault that the delivery was late for living far away and that the flowers were fresh when they had it and that it's not their problem they were wilted and dying by the time it was received! Absolute disgrace of a company the both of them, stay far away! *Pictures what I received vs what is advertised online. Not to mention I paid for the premium / large version, hate to think what the normal arrangement would look like

It was early, it was cold and the only feasible solution was this kiosk. I got there with the idea of 'anything will do' but the florist was very eager to help choose the correct flowers for the kind of person she was. It was amazing, he asked me questions I answered (as far as I knew, complexion, dress sense, favourite colour, perfume, etc) and somehow I ended up buying her favourite flowers! I don't know if it was a mere coincidence or if the guy actually know his business, but she loved her dandelions. His selection of flowers is not huge but he seems to have the right things. He is a poet/ writer of some sort as every time I go by he is writing on his little book, or maybe his got a magic book that gets customers to return.

Then head to Angelic Flower Co immediately. Alan Carr is the man behind the bloom and he will sort you out with the most beautiful bouquet of flowers all within your specified budget. I don't care what anyone says, there's nothing better than receiving flowers. It's the magic that unicorns and snuggies are made of. As Carolina G mentioned, he asked me all sorts of questions like what kind of perfume my friend wears, her clothing style, even where in London she lives/spends most of her time. He then carefully picked and choose each individual stem and somehow created the most amazing bouquet that couldn't have been more ideal for my friend. (Which, consequently, she adored.) It's a good thing I picked up two cards, because we're close enough friends that she instantly wanted to know the who, how, when, where and how much behind the gorgeous bouquet. I can't blame her, I nearly wanted to keep them for myself! I'll keep the extra card instead.

Hustling and bustling, with crowds enticed not just by the gorgeous flowers but also the healthy green houseplants and the shockingly reasonable prices, Columbia Road Flower Market is the place to be on Sundays. Getting a late start (compared to others), my walk from the Elizabeth Line to Colombia Road had me salivating; it seemed that everyone coming in the opposite direction held beautiful bouquets, thriving houseplants, or both. Later in the day people were leaving with their arms so full of oversized greenery that watching them navigate their way down the street was comical. So: the prices are great, the selection is astounding, and everything looks fresh and heathy. Only a city with a population the size of London could pull off such a great and bustling flower market. Getting here is a cinch on the new Elizabeth Line and the route from there to Columbia Road is well-marked. The market theoretically closes at 2 p.m. but many sellers were still hawking discounted product past that time. Come early or late, but do come. It's a crowded, colorful experience for which America really has no equivalent.
