For me, this shop conjures up memories of Eliza Dolittle from My Fair Lady--"buy a flower off a poor girl, gov!"
The flower girls in the streets of Edwardian and Victorian London were second class citizens. Poor little orphans and starving beggars. But perhaps the owner of this shop was referencing flower girls as in children in wedding parties? I guess that's much more realistic.
Despite reminding me of dirty little beggar girls trying to sell roses to passersby, this shop does offer some wonderfully high quality blooms at affordable prices.
And who knows maybe you will meet your fair lady here? ;) read more
