Emerald City Clinic rocks!…read more I first came to Dr. Molly Linton in 1996 when I needed a midwife as I was pregnant with my first child. That child is now a teenager and is also Molly's patient! I had a home birth with my first daughter with no complications. She had a whole team there (with my permission) and all along the way, she educated me about my pregnancy, labor and delivery so that I felt very empowered about having a baby. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget. What initially struck me about Molly and everyone that works with her is that I feel empowered after seeing them. Molly makes it her aim to educate every patient about choices, what works and doesn't work, exploring options, side effects of pharmaceutical drugs, vaccination issues, new studies, clinical evidence, and all of the rest. She is a true doctor and healer who upholds the oath beautifully! She encourages me to read about things that I am concerned about and has a huge library of books. When Molly says that this is her calling, I know for a fact that this is true. Molly will never claim to know everything (as some doctors do, ANNOYING), but she knows A LOT!! She will NEVER hesitate to refer anything to someone that might know to to handle a particular situation better than her...if needed (which is rare). Fast forward...my daughters and I are all Molly's patients now. She always has students and interns there who are learning from her, and some of them stay once they are done with their studies. Everyone that I deal with in the medical realm in this office is so knowledgeable but not just that, they help US to be knowledgeable and empowered about our health. I know that I keep saying empowered. It's because it's true! If you are looking for a great naturopathic clinic, look no further! My only regret is that now that I live in the South Sound, I have to drive farther to see her. But I don't mind because she's just that great!

She's especially excellent with hormones, HRT, and thyroid issues -- and what I appreciate most is that she listens to the patient and takes symptoms seriously, not just the numbers on paper. She consistently goes the extra mile, stays current with ongoing education, and takes a thoughtful "team" approach with the patient (in my case, coordinating alongside my MD/ARNP). I've seen her at a previous location and followed her to this new practice because her care is that thorough and supportive. Professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind -- you'll be in great hands.

I contacted Karen a few weeks ago because I was suffering from severe seasonal allergies. My eyes…read morewere itching, but mostly it chest congestion, which resulted in a post-nasal drip that had me coughing day and night. I know that, in the past, consumption of grains, like bread and pasta, exacerbated my seasonal allergies. I thought it had to be more than that and so I contacted Karen to help me. Karen was very responsive and immediately called me back, suggesting that we meet for an hour so that she could discuss with me my symptoms, my diet, my lifestyle and how we could adjust all of the above to alleviate my allergy symptoms. Karen is very knowledgeable and also very caring. She's a great listener and her suggestions for me were very practical. For instance, Karen advised that I avoid histamine producing foods, like oranges. I had no idea that oranges exacerbated season allergy symptoms. She also suggested that I add supplements to my diet, and, again, it was nothing that struck as extreme. 24 hours later I felt much better. 48 hours after that my allergy symptoms were largely gone, and I was able to sleep through the night without any coughing fits. In short, I had an exceptional experience with Karen, and I would recommend her without hesitation or qualification. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Karen for nutritional advice even without being afflicted by seasonal allergies (although that was the purpose of my initial outreach), and I'm confident that whatever advice Karen would give me would be effective, reasonable, and practical.

Originally, I booked an appointment with Carolann because I was interested in trying to lose weight using hypnotherapy. After meeting or talking on the phone with half a dozen hypnotherapists, I settled on Carolann because she came across as genuine, caring, empathetic, and an experienced professional. Plus, she had a soothing voice which I thought would be perfect for hypnotherapy sessions (call her and you'll see!). Shortly after I began working with her, I ended up going through an unexpected and traumatic life experience that lasted two years. Carolann served as my therapist during that time and I credit her with keeping me sane. She provided me with a safe space to vent/process. She also was a caring and empathetic listener who asked insightful and thoughtful questions which helped me grow, become more self-aware, and better cope with my situation. And finally, she served as my unwavering champion during this time period, and I so appreciated her warmth, empathy, and support. It has been over two years since I last saw her and I still find myself drawing on some of the tools/insights she taught me. That traumatic life experience is behind me now (which I'm thankful for) but as strange as it sounds, I'm grateful for the experience because it brought Carolann into my life. I'm a better and more healthy person today because of her. She helped me understand myself better, taught me how to tap into my inner-strength, gave me the courage to be vulnerable and lean on my support network, and she showed me how to deal with life's challenges in a positive manner. Whether you're seeking a hypnotherapist or in need of personal therapy, I can't recommend Carolann enough. She's truly an amazing and gifted therapist.
