The staff with the office manager right there at the reception desk started talking loudly about a patient they referred to "as that old lady" who was being difficult in payer her bill. I had to walk out to the desk and tell them I could hear every word of their loud conversation and how unprofessional they were being referring to a patient as "that old lady". My experience with the Non-Surgical Center for Physical and Sports Medicine Center has been wonderful. The waiting room never has more than one or two patients because the staff understand the value of patients time. It's a wonderful thing to be treated courteously by office staff. Dr Chad Frank has been able to relieve my back pain which allows me greater range of motion. I know that when my back "goes out" I can trust that Dr Frank will be there to help. I have practically crawled into the center at times because when my back acts up the pain is intense. After just one visit I realize significant relief from my agony. I have not used drugs or injections as part of my treatment with Dr Frank. I know it's an option, but I have not needed to do so. I feel blessed and grateful for Dr Chad Frank. I made the stupid mistake of going to an MD now immediately as opposed to visiting an orthopedic. After being in severe pain for over a week I knew that I would have to visit an orthopedic. Dr. Gelb's office came highly recommended to me from a few friends. I finally set up an appointment and made it in fairly quickly. The gal that checked me in made it quick and painless. There wasn't as much paperwork to fill out as I had expected. Once checked in I enjoyed the comfortable chairs in the waiting room. Thankfully I didn't have to wait too long to see the Dr., which usually seems to always be the case and the reasoning of why I avoid the Dr. unless I'm 5' 11" in my grave. I knew that I was in good hands when I saw all of the photos of the professional athletes that had their treatments done here. That definitely helped put me at ease. I ended up having Dr. Woods whom is the foot and ankle specialist at this practice. He gave me a brief introduction on his background. After going through my X-rays from MD now, he then began his examination of my foot and ankle. After my diagnosis he informed me of the physical therapy regimen that would be necessary for my recovery. Dr. Woods also broke the bad news that I would have to wear a stupid boot for about 6 weeks :( I ended up purchasing the boot directly after my visit at their physical therapy office located next door. Naturally there were several follow up visits to check on my progress. Dr. Woods for the most part didn't keep me waiting for too long. There were a couple of occasions when it seemed like an eternity of waiting. The flip side to that was that the practice was busy and they take their time with the patients. All in all I had a great experience here and was happy with the level of care, and treatment, that I received from Dr. Woods and staff. This is a walk-in orthopedic office which was perfect for me since I didn't want to wait till next week to find out what was wrong with my foot. This office is across from Broward General Hospital. I was seen by Dr. Jeffrey Alent who was very nice. Before being seen by the doctor X-rays were given and then the consult started. I was shown what the problem was and a plan of action. I am glad I did not break any bones in my foot. The recommendations were to take it easy, a no-impact exercise for a while, more stretching, and more supportive shoes as well as Voltaren cream for arthritis on my ankle from a broken ankle in the past. I did pass on the physical therapy since I rather work on the foot myself. Exercises were given to improve the range of movement. Hopefully, I will recover soon.
