My personal experience with this company is horrible. Instead of a "store front", they come to you by placing door hangers on your door even when you are a NO SOLICIT NEIGHBORHOOD. This should entitle one to review this business experience like any other. (It keeps getting removed as not falling in YELP guidelines with no opportunity to talk to YELP people about this poor personal experience.) This company has left door hangers on my home. Twice. Their door hanger "fakes" looking like your official energy company, trying to bait you to get into your home..... using advertising techniques to look like a government agency, beginning with "Important notice", a quote from US Dept of Energy, acting as if their service is a "free gift", etc. I called the phone number they give to complain and they were rude. They said they have our city's permission to distribute even in no soliciting neighborhoods. They say in response to another review they are "A+ rated" ....then they have bypassed my specific complaints to BBB. so glad I thought to check this company for reviews! I also thought they were partnered with my energy provider TECO and so I filled out the door hanger. The red flag was when they said my wife also had to be available for the audit... I said what's the significance of having her present and was told they wanted to understand her daily energy habits. My wife filled out a card as she thought is was just an audit sponsored by a government agency. Not!! He went into my attic and then told me we had only 4" of insulation which was illegal and we wouldn't be able to sell the house. Then was very pushy selling more insulation. Very rude and slimeball sales tactics. After he left I went in the attic and I have at least 13" of insulation. They are nothing but liars. Don't trust them as they are only taking advantage of the fact that most people may not go into their own attic. read more

Beware!!! Bait and Switch!! They said they were coming for an energy audit. They didn't look at my appliances, they didn't look at my windows and seals, they didn't look at my water heater, they didn't look at my A/C unit, nor did they look at my pool pump. Here's what they did do: they went up the attic to check the underside of my roof and they measured my windows. Why is that? To sell two things: a heat shield for the underside of your roof and "tinting" for all your windows. Bait and Switch!! They are not conducting an audit. They are pretending to conduct an audit so that they can make a sales pitch. I contacted my energy company recently to conduct an energy audit. Here's what they DID do: looked at my windows and seals, looked at my water heater, looked at my blinds, looked at my appliances, looked at my water heater, looked at my A/C unit, looked at my pool pump. Do not fall for this "free" audit. It is not an audit...it's disguised as an audit to make a sale. I knew something was fishy when they required both me and my wife to be here at the same time. After reading these reviews, I was worried about this company. I am so glad I had them come out anyway, They did a wonderful job. They took before and after pictures, they were very nice and honest. I received a door tag for an Energy Audit for which I made an appointment. My house had been hot upstairs and no other tradesman could figure it out. My newborn son's room is upstairs and it was more than uncomfortable. So, they sent out an advisor, he scientifically explained to me why it was hot upstairs after a thorough examination of my home. He was smart, professional and articulate and I was impressed with his knowledge of home energy efficiency. He pointed out multiple ways I can improve my energy costs myself and offered me an option to have Radiant Barrier installed. He said that I had adequate insulation and that he thought the Radiant Barrier would be the answer. My second floor is now as cool as the rest of the house and it was a reasonable investment. I, personally, thought the installation was going to be complex but the technicians were here for a half a day and they were very professional. I also had interaction with the administrative staff and they were able to work around my travel schedule. Overall, this place was a pleasure to interact with .... they went above and beyond and I am very happy.... highly recommend! read more

Jeff came to my house to represent the company. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Jeff did an awesome job representing FECA. He gave me a lot of information to thank about. Some that I already knew and some that I wasn't aware of (including some news I was not happy about~that had nothing to do with them but with the purchase of my house). The company seems to be run very honest and competitive in pricing as well. They sincerely care about helping people save money with their electric bill more then they care about profit which is something businesses don't seem to do today. Their reputation is to be respected on how the president (Richard whom I got to speak on the phone with personally) runs the company. I would definitely recommend using them and although I was not able to put in the insulation at the immediate moment, I am looking into doing so using this company. I trust that they will not only save me money in the future but do the job right as well. read more

Got the same door hanger (also in a gated community with a NO SOLICITING sign) so I called. I had to talk to the rep, supervisor and finally the director to finally get them to admit that they make their money by selling products and services. (They insisted they do not solicit because they are not technically asking for business.) It took another 10-15 minutes to get them to give me a ballpark price for even one item - $350 for a hot water heater timer. (I just found one on Amazon for less than $50). They were very secretive and defensive, unwilling to provide answers without coming into my home and doing the assessment. This company is UNWILLING to be honest, open and transparent. It appears they charge extremely high prices for their products and services. Stay away. read more

If "Florida Energy Conservation Advisors" is so above-board as they are stating, why the need to call my number over and over and over again day after day after day in clear violation of the telemarketing laws (I'm on the "do not call" list). And no, you won't find me in your "serviced address" list because I would never do business with you simply because you WON'T STOP CALLING ME!!!" Find a legitimate way to advertise your "services." If you're a legitimate company, you would not need to harass people by phone. You would pay for legitimate advertising and your success would be reflected by satisfied customers, not those of us who you insist on harassing by phone all the time. STOP HARASSING US!!! read more

If I could do 0 Stars I would have. These guys will leave a door hanger to call them to help you lower your energy bill, BEWARE, it is a SCAM. They will come to your house and act like they're inspecting ways to save you money on your electric bill but then they will just try and sell you window tinting and more insulation for $6,500 and they associate with a bank ready to give you the loan needed. Seems a bit pricey for some window tint and insulation doesn't it? They will try and make empty promises that it will cut your energy bill in half or more. The only reason I even entertained them coming to my house was because I thought they were associated with FPL (Florida Power & Light), which they are not. I called FPL to confirm and they denied any association with them and they also thought it sounded like a scam. Steer clear of these guys! Lucky for me I came to my senses fast enough to not let them take a dime from me and made them end up wasting their own time and money on the estimate. In the end I set up a real consult with an actual FPL representative who suggested a new Air Conditioning because mine was from 1988 and very inefficient. We got a new A/C and our bill dropped drastically right away and it has been paying for itself ever since. Problem solved! One of the main things that confirmed my suspicions was a yelp review so I figured I'd pay it forward and try and save someone else from getting scammed out of $6,500 for window tinting and insulation! read more
