Great music and message. We attended church here as we were traveling to the Florence area. Only…read morething that I found different than my home church is the friendliness of the parishioners. I'm used to a big church with loads of friendly people saying "hello" or "good morning". Not so much of that happening here-but may just be their culture. I did like that the youth sits up front and this church seems to do a lot of outreach.

Now, FBC has moved to the "corner" of Interstate 75 and Mt Zion Road, 2 miles from its original location. And this church is MASSIVE. From the second you see the steeple on I-75 you expect a large mega-church. Well, you'd be wrong. Yes, the church has over 1000 members...most of whom go to the 10:30 am Sunday service (they offer an 8:00 am "sermon only" service as well). Yes, this cost millions of dollars to put together and looks it. But FBC is just a local church. FBC doesn't have national television exposure...and doesn't necessarily have to have it. Their pastoral staff is very caring, and will make a point to welcome you when they see you. Their ministry is unlike any other in Northern Kentucky...real, straightforward and to-the-point. And the singles/young adult ministry, which I have been part of for 6 years, is one of the strongest in Boone County. FBC is a church I would recommend to anyone looking for a church home.

Nothing added, nothing taken away. Pastor Brad and the other Pastors are such a gift and love those they serve. I have never seen a Pastor who takes time every week to pray through the whole church directory for every single member. Or send notes of encouragement to those in his church body with scripture cards tucked in with a hand written note. Or Deacons who pray before meetings putting God first before they proceed. Well you will here! This churches first priority is to Honor God in everything! I have never been in a church where I wasn't checking my watch to see how long until lunch. But here, I never want the sermon to end. I have never grown so much and learned so much. They truly care about teaching and it's not about the professionals getting up on stage while you sit back like an audience and watch a performance. No, they are teaching us how to come together and praise God together as the body of Christ and how to handle God's word accurately and to be able to use your Bible to find the answers for life and to come alongside others. It's a place where men learn to be leaders and love the Lord. If you are looking for basketball, health fairs and the like, well, you won't find that here. They keep the main thing, the main thing. Christ. The Word of God. Children's ministry is big and always growing too. Lots of opportunities for growth. Check out their website to learn about the BIG ROCKS of Grace and lots of other good information. Counseling there is the best you will get anywhere. Training in Nanc Counseling is offered at a large Nanc Counseling Seminar every Fall with excellent biblical speakers. www.graceky.org Also there is a satellite campus in Ft. Thomas and a new one coming to Independence. And don't be scared away thinking it's too big of a church for you. Sit in the front and it will feel smaller! No, seriously, they have community groups that help you to connect to people up close. You can pick one in many communities to go to once a week. Come and check it out and like most of us, you'll probably say, "I've found my church home!"

If you are ok with being misled by passifists that will leaven the bread with too much leaven then it could be your place. From the misinterpreted scriptures to the infiltration of "feelings" and "personal beliefs" to explain scripture, I was to the point of wondering if the church is really just a social club. The message of the gospel is watered down in the midst of their mission to appear attractive to the young demographic . Turn it into a concert and keep it dark enough to hide in the cave. Keep the itching ears coming back it seems. Doing anything "short of sin", doesn't mean rushing out the door to make it to watch Sunday football, or playing Whitney Houston in the bathroom directly after service. There is truly a boundary that exists between reaching the lost and showing respect to the Father in His house of worship on the day of worship. If these leaders don't see that, you need to really question their teaching principles. It's not about me being offended, it's about showing respect to God in the place of worshiping Him, glorifying Him. It's not about us, it's about Him. And unfortunately, I feel this particular church has a problem with understanding how to reach the lost without being of the world. I was told today by a woman representing the church that they are a "happy place", " welcoming all" , and yet she was not too keen on being questioned as to why they were playing secular music overhead directly after service. I was told in response that Crossroads is "not for everyone", meaning, it's not everyone's cup of tea, there are other churches available for those "other" people who don't quite fit their mold, despite their online mission statement recognizing this fact that there is one church. So then why suggest other churches? Yes, there is 1 Church. Jesus will come for His bride some day. That bride is The Church. But, if one is "offended" by something , then it's not for them? I'm sorry, but that's not what the Bible teaches. Jesus doesn't tell us to tell people to check out another church down the street if they're offended by what's being taught. Take heed. This church may have good intentions, but their good intentions are being played with by some people in the church who are allowing the world and their feelings to control their teaching instead of the Holy Spirit. I feel it's my duty as a follower of Christ to bring some things to light. If this is your church, please question" why" often , and study your Bible more. Learn to discern what you're being taught. Ask for God to direct you. It doesn't mean stop going, it means asking questions and being firm in your faith. Avoid falling into deception. Going into places where people sin to reach the lost or sharing in some friendships and fellowships is different than altering a place of worship to fit the desires of the sinner. We shouldn't manipulate the house of worship to make it culturally current by taking God out of it. That's what the Nicolaitans did, and God detested it.
