We've come here with both a large group and a small group and it's perfect for either one. The beach below with Haystack rock is fantastic for long walks and beach combing when the water is out. We've rented many homes across the US and this is one our favorites.

An honest advertisement would say "sleeps 6 plus a couple of kids". The only way to get ten would be for two of the bedrooms to sleep three to a bed. Maybe kinda awkward. I personally ended up on a very cheap roll-a-way. Notes of admonition are posted around warning you that you will have to pay $175 if you plug up the drain or toilet. I seriously doubt that that is what the drain cleaner charges. So why so harsh? I've been in far worse places, but a few changes in the advertising and policies would go a long way to making this a great place.

The best shops and restaurants are just across the way, and there are multiple beach access points within just a few minutes drive. *This motel is perfect for ME, but it's not perfect. I didn't want to bring down the rating with things that don't matter to me, but they might matter to you, so here's some things you should know: The inn is on the main drag, so there is significant day-time traffic noise. (on the other hand, if you tend to be up in the wee hours like I do, it gets quieter and you can hear the ocean from just outside your room). The place looks well worn, but what else can you expect on the windy coast?! I hit this area of the coast each winter, and plan to stay again next time.

Stumbled upon this place while planning a trip up the coast of Oregon. Called ahead but no one…read moreanswered, it went to voicemail twice. We did text and received a response to our question. Located right across the street is the beach. Around the corner are plenty of places to eat. With a variety of stores not too far away. Plenty of parking when we arrived. Looks like about 12 units on the first and only floor. There is RV parking located around the corner we saw. The sign says "no overnight parking". The room we got had a queen bed (firm) with a microwave, large mini fridge, sink, coffee maker, toaster, utensils, plates, tv, fan (no a/c), a window to the street and a window by the kitchen sink. Night stand wasn't plugged in, neither was the lamp upon arrival. When trying to plug it in to the extension cord on the other nightstand, the cord didn't fit as it was a 3-prong. The toilet did have a 'sanitary' strip over it, showing it had been cleaned. Upon arrival we did have difficulty getting into our room. The code wasn't working. One of the employees happened to be onsite to help us. We were a bit put back when she said the key code to our room out loud in the middle of the parking lot allowing others to hear. Luckily, there weren't any people around, that we saw. However, at night we did put a bit of a barricade by the door because of that reason. Plus the door didn't have a secondary lock. There was a couple restaurants at the front of the hotel but they were not operating while we were there. Good spot to lay your head down for the night

They are currently remodeling the rooms and the entire space but they were courteous and very welcoming. I met the owner and he cares for his product as he asked me for my opinion. I told him that the rooms were great, the beds was very comfortable, cozy and warm. They have a small kitchen and all so you can get your food and bring it into the hotel. Being such a nice room, it has an absolutely incredible ocean view -- as good as they get! But wait, there's more: EVERYONE, from restaurant staff to the owners, is as nice and helpful/REAL as people get. I LOVE this place, and, BTW, it has the best restaurant on the Oregon Coast downstairs. And, we were there on a very quiet, romantic night. It was fun pretending we could afford it all! My wife and I stayed at the Redfish Loft and had a very relaxing time while there…read more It sits atop the Redfish Restaurant and adjacent to the Hawthorne Gallery in Port Orford on the southern Oregon coast. At the time of this writing, it's only a little over a year old. Very upscale looking and classy, with works of art throughout the loft. You'll find a bamboo floor and a large, comfy couch. At your disposal, you have a flat screen television with cable, mini-fridge, coffee maker (fresh coffee, tea, cider, nuts, etc are provided), iPod dock, free Wifi, king-sized bed, gas fireplace, walk-in, stone shower, large soaking tub, and one of the most gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean on the coast. You can have wine and food delivered to the Loft from the restaurant below or go down for a bite. The only downside is that you may find music soaking through the floor of the Loft from the restaurant below. Also, I would have liked a microwave in the room. Port Orford is a small town with an over-priced grocery store (Ray's Foods) and restaurants that tend to open and close at a whim. Nice place for an Oregon coast stay.

So glad we chose to stay here for the 4 nights we were there. This motel is the best stay in town…read morewith hands down best beach access which is literally across the street. We spent every night combing the beach for eye candy treasures of colorful starfish and giant green anemones. It was nice to hang out at the picnic tables late at night just to chill, listen to the ocean, watch the cars go by. The owners are friendly and offer frequently how they can help us enjoy our stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean with new and modern amenities such as a microwave, mini fridge, and 4 cup coffee pot. I appreciated the full length mirror, more coffee ability in the room, the fan, big table, and the always hot shower. It is colder in the off season so the new extra blanket made it cozy. They also have a restaurant that offers a broad menu, bar, ice cream, coffee bar. It is all you need in one spot and even better, it is only a short walk to wander to the towns gift shops and attractions. Highly recommend.

Not only is it a 5 minute golf cart ride from the course but the hot tub and sauna were perfect for post round recovery. I appreciate how well thought out the property is, and loved grilling on the Traeger while the guys were watching a basketball game with a fire going. The owner was extremely responsive to any questions. Definitely recommend!
