This one is relatively small which is nice if you wish to stay away from the chaos of Mauer park and you may even pick up that piece of vintage WMF or the box of cheap batteries you have been looking for or the tat 70's Berlin memorabilia to give your friends back home as gifts. Check the weather before going to gauge how many stalls will be there. The better the weather the better the market is.

It was like someone literally went through their closet, pulled a bunch of stuff out and set it on a pile, expecting others to sift through them for buried treasure. Most booths were like this. Sorry, but it seems a little surreal to expect to take the time to go through someone's old garbage, when they themselves couldn't be bothered to fold up the clothes/make the booth presentable for customers? Other booths were more professional looking/easier to look at. You can tell that they actually gave a shit about what they were selling, and it's true; they were selling some really awesome, DIY stuff! I bought a few tote bags and handmade goods as a result. The prices were reasonable and the people were extremely friendly. It seems like this flea market is a little young and I'm not sure if I would go back. Seems unlikely considering there are waaaay better flea markets in the city.

Thankfully I know enough German to get by, but I know it was more of a challenge for my traveling companions. It's really worth going to have an authentic Berlin experience!
