The old snuggery is very cozy and is heated by a tiled stove. Also the built-on porch made of old wood (this is the non-smoking area) is awesome. The small but mighty menu is appealing. For the small appetite different breads are offered (e.g. with cold roast pork, bacon, dripping). In the ski-son the inn is regrettably totally overcrowded at midday. The inn can be reached by chair-lift from the village Mönichkirchen. In case the chair-lift is not in operation it is also reachable by car or via the village Mariensee.

Every day there is a new dish of the day. My dish was cooked pork belly meet with root vegetables, it was delicious. Exceptionally recommendable are the home-made desserts, for example the slice of cream cake. Considering that the Hallerhaus is a mountain shelter, the dishes are excellent as well as the service despite of some peak times during the day. For drinking the cider is recommendable (harsh taste wine and sweet taste apple juice). Because of its good location the Hallerhaus is both as an aim of a hike and as a waypoint to the Hochwechsel advisable.
