I bought a ticket online tonight for a 10:30pm bus going from Philadelphia to NYC. When I went to load onto the bus the driver yelled at me that my ticket was actually for tomorrow's date. I made an error when purchasing the ticket. I attempted to get onto the app and switch the ticket to today. The ticket I had was just purchased minutes before. It was an unused ticket. Instead of assisting me the driver (pictured above) continued yelling at me that it was the wrong date. There were many empty seats left on the bus. Flix bus is one of those new so called improvements over Greyhound over the last 10-15 years. Greyhound has replaced many routes with Flix buses. I first took flix in 2021 or so from NYC to DC. what I remember was being dumped by a hotel downtown in the middle of the night. and the cabbies weren't working because it was a holiday. I also remember no or a very inadequate bathroom. long time ago though. Last week I wanted to go to Montreal. back 15 years ago I would take greyhound bus from Mt. Laurel (where I lived). and catch the midnight connect to Montreal. It was a real bus station where I could wait and where I park my car in the free and safe parking lot for a whole week, if needed. so I try to book a bus ticket to Montreal today- Greyhound Mt Laurel gone but Flix bus replaces them. so I get a Flix bus that leaves from Cherry Hill Mall where I take a taxi to because there's no place to park your car and stand around on the street corner wait like an idiot with 50 lbs of luggage. Sigh of relief. the bus came. but- coming home from Montreal- first, Flix scares the living crap out of me by sending me a form that i had to fill out to cross the border. turns out it didn't apply to me. but...then I arrive in NYC like 4:30 in the am two hours before expected on a Sunday morning. my connection bus doesn't come until 10 am. the 31st "station"in NYC is nothing but a strip of concrete to park the buses. so nothing open and 50 lbs of luggage to drag around. I bought a train ticket back today as far as being cost effective, seriously the round trip ticket from Southern NJ to Montreal was $318. wtf read more

Take anything else but FlixBus/Greyhound. Amtrak (buy in advance) or take a Chinatown bus. FlixBus is the devil's taint. First, the FlixBus bus stop moved from 6th and Market to freaking SPRING GARDEN and Columbus Boulevard. Yes, by strip clubs and nothing else. I booked a bus for this weekend, and it was delayed for three hours before being straight up canceled. Sure, I got a full refund, but I'm still not where I paid to be. Never thought I'd dislike a bus line more than MegaBus or Greyhound, then FlixBus came into the picture and acquired Greyhound. read more

Flix bus operating with Greyhound. Pay close attention to your ticket and the travel times. My bus made many stops and all told my ride was almost 6.5 hours from Richmond, VA to Philly. I was only paying attention to "lowest fare" and now I see why. I took a late FlixBus going down to Virginia and that ride was way more relaxing. I left Philly at 3:15pm and got to my destination at 8:30pm. Five hours and some change. The bus only made two stops and after the 2nd I had the entire back of the bus to myself. Also, I would not pay the extra five dollars to pick your seat. While some folks honor their seat assignment I saw many who did not (including myself) and if someone was in your seat you just ignored it and found somewhere else to sit. This is how it was on my ride down to Virginia without incident. However that was not the case coming back where two individuals getting on in Wilmington demanded their correct seats and it caused a whole scene that the driver struggled to control because the people in their seats had people in their seats. Left out of Philly from their chaotic "stop" (just a random overpass they pick up passengers from). About an hour out, middle of nowhere outside of Baltimore in the dark along the highway, the bus breaks down. Driver can't get in touch with dispatch, can't give us any clue how long it's going to be or what is even going on. Told us, though, that Flix would cover an uber ride out of there. After an hour several of us shared a ride to Baltimore to catch trains. Flix tells me that since the bus "reached its destination", no refund. Horrible company. It's cheap for a reason. read more

Everything could improve! My experience was horrible! The departure was suspect (not sure where to stand to wait for the bus (signage needs some improvements). The return trip went left quick. Upon arriving at Midtown NYC bus station the attendant came over to each passenger asking if they received an email stating that the departure time was changed from 12:00 to 12:30. I didn't get an email and I didn't know if I would have a seat on the next bus. Nor was any additional information offered. We took FlixBus from DC to Philly and back. They offered the best prices and departure times that worked with our schedule. The DC to Philly bus pick-up spot was easy to find. The buses were already parked and there was adequate signage for FlixBus in the DC parking lot. Check-in was easy; we scanned our ticket with the driver and he directed us to our assigned seats. We left within 10 minutes of its scheduled departure time. Coming and going, the bus had all of the stated amenities - working WiFi, access to onboard entertainment (movies, music, and books), outlets, and a bathroom (I didn't check it out but I'll take their word for it). It also had small trash bags in each row to help keep the bus clean. The ride was a little bumpy, but nothing sickening - smooth overall - and arrival times were on point (pretty impressive if you ask me, since traffic in any city can be unpredictable). The pick-up point in Philly was not as well advertised. We arrived at the stop an hour early, so no buses were in sight to nail down the pick-up area, and no signage could be found. Granted, pickup is a little tricker in Philly since it's literally on the side of the street, not in a parking lot, and with no brick and mortar facility. Regardless, the bus showed up from New York, we were able to find the bus, and we left on time. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because customer service was a let down. I had issues using a voucher when booking the tickets, and their online customer service was unresponsive; their phone line customer service was also hard to track down and then hit or miss if they answered at all. When I was finally able to talk to a rep, they weren't helpful at all. But hey, with the competitive pricing, you get what you pay for. Customer service/voucher snafu aside, the trip experience was comparable to Amtrak for me with the onboard amenities and staying on schedule. read more

I asked the driver if the bus is for flixbus and for new York? And instead of answering his response was what do you think, and he never answered my question he was like can't you read and open your eyes What do you think and with a voice which was disrespectful this was my first time using flixbus in US and will Be last. I paid for a bus ticket from NYC to DC last weekend. I got to the station on time for my bus, and asked the station operator (the guy with the bright vest who was directing bus traffic) which one was the 1pm bus to DC. He told me that "the bus to DC is delayed; please go wait over there," and pointed me to a gaggle of people waiting for the bus. So I lug my pack over and wait where I was told. Busses pulled out of the station, and more busses came in. Fifteen minutes later, a bus comes that they say is "the bus to DC", so I put my pack in the luggage compartment and go to board. The driver scans my ticket, only to tell me that this was the 12:30pm bus, and that the 1pm bus had already left! I go back to the operator, who told me that I could contact the company for a refund of my ticket, and for now I could get a new ticket for the next bus. So I did, going to the schedule like he directed me and bought a new ticket for the 2pm bus (as by that time the late 12:30pm bus had been sold out). 2pm comes around, and I go to get my ticket scanned again, only to be told that (under the operator's direction) I had purchased a ticket for the wrong station (with a similar name)! So I had to get a third ticket (this time for a different company) and lug my pack to a different station five blocks away to finally get to DC. I went to FlixBus' customer service (first their hotline, then their email), but was told every time that since I had missed my bus, they couldn't refund it. They keep telling me that "If you know that you can't make it to the station on time, then you can cancel your ticket up to fifteen minutes in advance." Except that I had gotten to the station with twenty minutes to spare for my first bus, and didn't know I had purchased the wrong ticket for the second one until ten minutes before it was scheduled to leave! They're now refusing to refund either ticket, which totals to about $90 out of my pocket due to THEIR employee's errors! I wasn't the only one who missed the first bus due to being told to wait for the wrong one - there were at least six other people in the same situation as me when the wrong bus came, and at least two of those had the same issue with getting tickets to the 2pm bus at the wrong station. But the customer service reps denying the refund claim that since people did board the right bus from that station, and since I didn't record the interaction with the employee (who does that when asking a simple question to the person who's supposed to know the correct answer?), they won't refund us. Terrible experience. I travel from NYC to Philly regularly and use Peter Pan or Greyhound which are usually fine. I decided to try Flixbus due to their pickup location in NYC. Trip from NYC to Philly was fine. However on my ride back I received a notification that the bus was delayed an hour. It was raining so I went to a nearby coffee shop to get dry. Then look at my phone and it says the bus arrived at the original time and is gone. This was well before the rescheduled time. Called customer service and they refused to give a refund or transfer my ticket, saying I should have been standing there in the rain anyway. There's a reason Flixbus is cheap. Taking the Flixbus from this particular location was odd since it was in a part of town that I was unfamiliar with (BSL line). It isn't as centrally located as the Market street stop but it is in a neighborhood I was definitely go explore next time. The "station/stop" is in the parking lot of the Philadelphia Boys and Girls choir. The bus driver was polite and we left promptly according to the schedule. With the prices that they have it's no wonder it's not completely jam packed every day. read more

Very happy about my experience tonight, I've taken FlixBus a few times and I've never had a bad experience especially compared to taking the ratchet Chinatown bus or even greyhound. With flixbus, I was very pleased with the customer service especially from tonight's ride, I arrived at exactly 8:14 and the bus was set to leave at 8:15; although my tardiness was there the bus driver Austin was still hospitable. He loaded my luggage underneath the bus and easily scanned my ticket from my phone app with no difficulties. What made the bus driver stand out even more was his announcement in all my 32 years of living lol I have never had a bus driver that cares about your phone charger at your seat working, he even went out his way to say if the charger doesn't work he can charge it for you! This was epic lol life changing, it's the small things that matter. The bus trip was very smooth, great driving, he played oldie jams that I loved and it was a great vibe. Can't fail to mention when we almost arrived to NYC on the way in Nj traffic was crazy, Austin the bus driver rerouted and took the scenic way so we didn't have to suffer and sit in traffic #dope FlixBus for life ! read more

Started off so promising...We left from Nyc right on time, and the "direct" ride stopped at Cherry Hill, NJ. Albeit very quickly 1.5 hrs but the ticket advertised a direct ride so that's a blatant lie. Then we were supposed to be off to DC. But the driver went in the opposite direction.... And now I've read that other Yelpers experienced this too! Is it because they want to avoid tolls? That's just not smart business. I didn't even notice until a passenger, more astute, asked if we were still heading to DC. We were, so I was confused. Then after looking at a map I realized we wasted a full hour and 45mins going north then turning around, passing cherry hill a second time. It was a cheaper ticket but I definitely have not experienced this before. I think it's pretty silly to detour to save tolls for a commercial business. 1 star is generous. Avoid flixbus. Yes it's cheap so I shouldn't have expected too much, but I've travelled many times from DC to NYC for less and in much more comfortable conditions. High point the AC worked. Broken overhead bins did not close or open. Assigned seats that most riders disregarded and were offended when pointed out. The website showed pictures of tray tables and cup holders. Nope. No WiFi Delays at every stop. There were two extra stops. Late start. Flixbus cancelled my NY to Philly trip exactly 17 minutes before departure. I was left standing in the cold with all my luggage at the street corner. They informed me of the cancellation via text. No call to rebook me or offer me a refund, no employee was even there at the pick up point. I had to call and wait on hold to get a refund. Worse service in the country. The bus was delayed for TWO AND A HALF hours. I was supposed to commute from Philadelphia to New York. There was a few drivers at the pick up location near Spring garden Station but all the drivers refused to speak to anyone. The driver for bus #9959 that was on site today at noon was very rude to people who needed help. The office was close but so no in person agent could assist. Customer service is a nightmare. When I finally got ahold of an agent, the agent dropped the call. There "refund policy" states they're supposed to refund you if you request it TWO HOURS after initial departure but was not given a refund. DO NOT waste your money. Go with "ourbus" for better transportation services. At least the drivers and customer service agents treat you like a person. read more

Overpriced.i paid $24.95 one way today to get from nyc to philadelphia. I was never charged for a bicycle and this ride driver got loud and almost put himself in a bad situation with his attitude. He barely spoke a few English words at best. He was arguing with other customers ahead of me and almost just without me. Then he did some illegal side pocket nonsense. $10 for car meaning bicycle. I explained to himi have never paid for that. He knew very well where the ATM was. Waited for me, so i had to take another $20 + 2.99 atm fee. This company and this driver charged me $37.99 one way wheni got to NYC on Ourbus for $17.95. This company is owned by greyhounf whom always ccauses problems with bicycles. I thought I was going to be riding on something like the Mega Bus or Bolt Bus. This is Greyhound! I would never have booked a trip on there. No WIFI, tight conditions... I actually paid extra for a specific seat. The girl sitting there wasn't going to move. The bus driver says to me "can you sit in the seat behind that seat"? "Can you sit in the seat in front of it"? No, I want the seat I paid for. A young lady had purchased the seat next to me but they wouldn't move for her. Then the boyfriend moves out of the window seat so his girl can move out my seat. He moves to the seat in front of me and reclines his seat all the way back. Yes, it's a cheaper way to travel but cheaper isn't always better. I had never heard of Flixbus before as it doesn't really run in Philly. But it was available to bring me to Philly from NC. The website pics looks like the Mega Bus experience. Newer busses, WIFI at your seat, etc. When that Greyhound-looking Bus showed up, I was like "is this it"? The trip from NC to DC wasn't bad at all. Wasn't as crowded. My seat mate was a sensible young lady. She got off at the first stop and I had the whole seat to myself to DC. But that bunch from DC to NY! OMG! They were packed in there like sardines. This company is the worst. Left me, my mom and my 3 children stranded. Long story short - the bus departed almost 30 min earlier than the original time without notifying me of the change so I couldn't even anticipate this problem. Customer service isn't helping me so I'm trying to last minute book tickets on another bus and will figure out the refund/complaint situation later. I was supposed to leave at 11 AM and can only hope and pray to god that we can leave on the 1:10 PM bus. It gets really hectic traveling with my family and I literally just want to cry. Only use this as a last resort and never if you value punctuality. I took the 5:05pm flix bus to DC. First off I was at the bus stop at 4:55 pm but the bus didn't show up until 5:35 pm. The bus was 30 minutes late and then on top of that once the bus left Philadelphia for some reason the driver decided to turn around at Walt Whitman bridge and go back to center city Philadelphia. Now it's almost 6pm and I'm still sitting in Philadelphia. I find this extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional. read more

I already had a post up about this nasty Jamaican bus driver who finds it more important to stop a bus in the middle of Live traffic with a bus full of passengers just to tell someone to go to the rear of the bus to use their phone in a threatening condescending matter read my other post pertaining to this nasty ass Jamaican driver. My son and I had the front seat I used the phone very quietly for 2 minutes she heard my conversation and decided to get on the loudspeaker to deliberately interrupt my conversation yelling giving speil trying to play it off like she's giving her general busing formation, but I knew what she was doing. I was already off the phone when she decided to stop the bus and tell me to go to the rear of the bus I told her I'm not going anywhere and I'm not even on the damn phone what is her problem she needs to find another job like housekeeping and stay in her place she doesn't need to be customer service because she doesn't have proper etiquette to deal with the public in a professional manner. Some people take their job too seriously and go too far I know people can be too loud on their phones but that wasn't me she'll get hers in the future one way or the other from being nasty one day somebody's going to do something in retaliation. read more

worst experience ever. I booked a round tirp from Philly to NYC for Feb 26. The departure from Philly was fine, left on time and arrived at NYC on time. The bus drive was friendly. The return trip, however, was a nightmare. The bus was scheduled to leave NYC at 7pm, when I arrived at the depature site in NYC, 31 street/8th avenue, around 6:30pm, I saw a bus waiting there. What happened next is abosultely a nighmare and it still haunted me. A bus drive was stnding there, and I tried to have a conversation with him, but he just yelled 'Get on the bus'; I tried to show my code, and he lost his patience, just yelled to me again, 'Get on the bus, and sit anywhere'. HIs voice was full of anger, frustration, and it seems that he was yelling to an animal, rather than a passenger. From his voice, you could not detect any respect, any customer service. I got on the bus, and found a seat. And I found out that most people sitting the bus actually booked 4:45pm bus, but the bus never showed up. So, those poor people have bee waiting there, in cold winter, for more than 2 hours, without any updates. Then, the bus driver got on the bus and started to scan bar code. When it was my turn, he yelloed at me again, 'put your hands down'. I believe he has an issue with Chinese people. I felt that he wanted to hit me at any moment. I felt very unsafe during the entire trip. There is aboslutely no way that the driver should treat his passengers this way. Do yourself a favor and never book this compnay again.
