My 13 year old daughter and her friend love going to vintage stores and looking at clothes and trying stuff on. The upstairs of the store has all vintage clothes, there is a dressing room and no signs that say anything about trying things on. I was with the girls the entire time, and the woman comes up and says, "if those girls aren't buying anything they need to stop trying on the clothes and quit playing!" I simply said, they were not playing, and she got really snippy with me. I had the girls stop and we left. I was planning on buying something, but didn't, because of how the lady treated us. The girls were so sad. Everywhere else we have been in the Ozarks, people have been so friendly, but not here!

It's kept neat and orderly, no matter how much merchandise they have on the shelves and on the racks. I like that a lot: Just because you are dealing in thrift goods, your store doesn't have to look like a junkyard. There are quite a few thrift/junk stores that could take a cue from this Salvation Army location. They're exemplary! The owners were very friendly and had pity on me, allowing me to take a quick walk around to see what they had inside. The lady at the register told me that they had been closed the past few months (as many small businesses are here in the winter) and had just reopened. She told me that she was dusting and getting things in order. For the record, this is one of THE cleanest, well organized, laid out vintage, antique stores you will ever visit. I have posted many pics of what I saw on Saturday but please be aware, if you see something, you MUST buy it on the spot. If you don't, I can almost promise you it won't be there next time. They have a nice mixture of antiques, vintage, new, collectible and locally made handicrafts. You can use credit cards (YAY!!) and here's the best part, the prices are very reasonable....so much so that I thought there were typos on the little tags on the pieces I bought. Many times, shops like these gouge customers on prices and they can be unreasonably high, not so here. I try and stop at all the little shops that I see in my daily travels. I travel for work all over Mid-Missouri, and this is one of the top 3 I've stopped at. I have been to many of these types of stores throughout the country and most are ridiculously overpriced. This place is not only affordable but their collections throughout the store are pretty rad.
