I remember going to the Sharp clinic for pediatrician visits and seeing her photography on the San Diego Family Magazines. She's very down to earth, sociable, understanding, on-time, offers varied themed photo sessions in addition to regular appointment gigs, and maybe most importantly?... she's able to make my kids laugh (even with doing her gig solo!). This attribute makes for great, genuine photos. She will also provide feedback on outfits and "pose" you (little things I'm grateful for since I'm not much of a posing person and then single Dad trying to figure out outfits and what not). The only bad thing I can say, if it's a negative at all, is the online system to select/order photos from has a clunkiness to it specifically with the favorite/star system, but Chris points this out as part of her instructions and advises how to work that. So it's not enough to detract from rating (and I'd feel fake listings only all pro's and no con's).

The booking experience was so easy! We had a quick phone consult and I was quickly out at ease that this session was going to be exactly what I was looking for. She follows very safe measures when handling your baby, practices great hygiene and cleanliness the entire session and wore a mask. I loved how prepared she was when we walked in with all the little baby sets set up based off what I described to her I wanted. I sent her Inspo photos and she did as many as she could and more. She is really pleasant to work with and gives you so much freedom to pick and choose from her large selection of swaddles, blankets and props. She even has gowns and outfits for moms and siblings to use for family photos! I loved how she had everything you would need for changing baby, postpartum needs and lots of snacks and drinks. Her patience with feedings during the session was great. It really helped us to achieve calm and beautiful photos and we never felt rushed. Being the Type A personality that I am, I asked a lot of questions such as "What should we wear?" and "Where are we going to meet exactly?" But Renata was more than happy to answer all my questions. My dad isn't exactly the most photogenic person on demand, but Renata was more than patient to work with it. In fact, she was patient with all of us because we didn't know what to expect and she gladly guided us through her favorite spots at Balboa Park. After the ease of setting up day, time, and place, deposit and contract were sent. Everything was done electronically, making it convenient. The day of the session went well despite a little wind making hair placement difficult. Other than that, she arrived on time and accommodated our change of location requests. My only complaint is that she didn't take as many candid or playful shots of the kids or family as I expected. I also felt like we didn't get as much direction as to how to pose. She did advise us in what order to stand. I would have maybe liked a few seated poses as well. Overall, she was friendly and professional. She even took some photos with my old polaroid camera per my request. The finished work arrived quickly via a link through email with direction on how to download and select favorites. The images are beautiful and the turn out with final editing was fast, approximately 2 to 3 days. I am pleased with how everything went and how it turned out.
