Water sprayers in 4-foot kids pool
    Mike O.

I think we found the place we'll keep coming back to this summer and beyond. Simply the most unbelievable deal for an outdoor pool & water park in our area! We were looking online for another water park to try and came across this place. Now get this. Come here after 6 PM on any day, resident of Glenview or not, and admission is only $3 per person or child! They're open till 9 PM, so after 2 hours your kids will be too tired anyway. If they're a little stronger, they'll play till it's time to close up the place. Flick Pool has it all: 2 big water slides, diving pool, lap pool, a real shallow little kids' area, a deeper water play area that goes up to 4 feet and has an aquatic playground. There's even a water gun target shooting area. The dressing areas are clean, there's even two family changing areas, which is great if you got small kids who need help. There's a nice restaurant on premises too. Not just the usual fast food either. They were grilling burgers when we got there, and if I hadn't eaten dinner already, I'd easily have gone for one of their great burgers. The restaurant closes at 7 PM though. So, what did my kids like the most? It had to be the target shooting area. It works like this: you press a button and two water guns mounted on posts begin to spray. Your objective is to hit targets and fill a bucket with water from the gun. Of course, the kids opted to spray us instead a good part of the time. When a round of target shooting ends, the "winner" gets doused with an overhead shower. If it's close or a tie, both gunners get wet. The lap pool goes up to 5 feet deep and it's definitely the warmest of all the pools at the park. All around the pool, there's plenty of flotation jackets for kids. Not for a fee like at some places, but free to put on and wear in the water. Life guards are plentiful and attentive. Two water slides are not too steep and they're both fun, but you have to be 48" to go on them. In all, a splendid experience! I think we'll make this a routine for the summer, as the price of going here will be less than any pool pass even in our home town of Park Ridge. And after 6 PM, it wasn't crowded like during the usual peak afternoon hours at most pools on a hot day. And one last tip for parents. If you're staying tillt he end, bring along pajamas. Go to the family changing room, give the kids a shower right there and get them dressed in their jammies, all ready for bed and call it a night. They'll be sleeping real good....

Great for the kids & adults, food wasn't the best but hey wasn't the worse. Will be going back this summer.

There are so many pools in the North Shore to choose from and this is where my fam most recently chose to cool off. When we first arrived the main pool was closed for swimming lessons so we made our way to the toddler play area, which is basically a park and sprayer in the middle of very shallow water. I was about to make myself comfortable on a lounge chair when an announcement was made that the main pool was open to the public (around 11am on a Saturday). My 4 yr old dragged my husband over, which meant I had to go too since my 2 year old insists on doing everything that his big sister does. Sigh. The water was absolutely freezing and no area was shallow enough for my kids to stand. More work for me, but (of course) the kids had a blast. I personally prefer Hidden Creek in Highland Park for swimming while my kids are young and not swimming perfectly on their own. The main pool has both shallow and deep ends so one of us can hang w/ my 4 yr old in the deeper water, while the other can hang w/ my 2 yr old in the shallow water...and he's perfectly content being in the same pool as his sister. The water slide in the shallow end is also a big draw for both my kids (and many others) at Hidden Creek. However, as my kids get older I could see myself loving Meadowhill as much as my kids did. There's also an additional side with a very impressive water slide and diving boards as the kids grow. Also worth noting that Glencoe residents pay Northbrook prices here making it one of the more affordable pools in the North Shore for my fam

The large main pool is divided into areas for family use, lap swimming, and adults. There is a separate, well equipped "kiddie" pool for children, a diving pool, and two water slides with a splash down pool. One slide is for use with a flotation device and the other is for use without. There is a refreshment stand that is open during certain hours, and vending machines for use at other times, You can't bring food into the pool area; you must eat in the designated eating area, which is very nice. There are nice areas around the pool for relaxing on the deck chairs. In recent years, Meadowhill pool has been expertly maintained and kept beautifully clean. They have certain hours for lap swimming. The hours change from time to time, so it is important to check with the front desk for up to date information. They generally keep one or two lanes open during the afternoon "rush hour" when the rest of the pool is in use for swimming lessons. Aesthetically, Meadowhill Aquatic Center is one of the nicest outdoor pools I have ever seen. It is landscaped beautifully with native plants along the south side of the pool next to the family picnic area, which can be rented for parties and other events. A couple of times each summer the Park District sponsors a special night at the pool. Usually they will have a DJ, refreshments, games, and prizes. Signs for these activities are posted in advance. The only issue I've run into is weather, which affects all outdoor facilities. They make everyone leave the pool area at the first indication of an approaching storm, so be prepared if you come on a cloudy day.

The coordinator is a poor communicator who took over from the initially hired coordinator. Neither or them knew nothing of the pool party room's equipment (table size, number or tables, quantity that was available for use, chairs..). The mom and daughter were arguing about personal stuff while we were trying to set up the food and drinks. We weren't asked how we wanted the tables set up or how many chairs we wanted. They used blue table covers that were in one of the cupboards. Would have been nice to know we didnt need to buy any. We weren't asked about how we wanted to time the party. We told them how we wanted the party to move. We were ignored. We told them to help themselves to the food and drinks during the party. They did. But during the clean up. They LITERALLY helped themselves to the remaining sodas. For themselves. We invited the life guards to come in for pizza and the water and soda Those kids were more polite then the coordinator. So we took a pizza and some loose soda cans that weren't boxed up by our party helpers and walked them to the office for theifeguards. Appalling. Maybe next party will be at a Fieldhouse. We can set up and clean up ourselves and put that extra money into food and drinks for our invitees instead.
