You might feel intimidated asking for help working out, this would be the place you come to feel…read morewelcomed into starting your work out journey. Everyone from just starting out to "woah, that's some serious muscle" work out here. I came to Cuong for a myriad of reasons. The main reason I came was to buff up for an apprenticeship I applied for- so I'm at a steady healthy level like the 20 year olds I'm competing against. In the mix of things, SO many reasons to be there got brought up that my focus on why I needed it... broadened. Immensely. A few thing's I can see that I love, and I'm currently on my 2nd week: The consistency of the plans, full body to start, consistency on food intake for any with confusion on dietary needs, the gym is small, private, quiet, and the staff is personable. (If you're like me and don't like people, this would be an awesome gym for you!) The cost: Yes, it does cost you money. You're learning a new skill, one you might not have any understanding of. The cost in the long run is worth it. Initially you'll pay about $340 (if I remember correctly), eventually it bumps down to about $270. The initial joining fees are included in your first payment. The gym is $70 the first month and $50 following. The training is the same, visit their website for specifics. In the end, the personal training only (roughly if you divide the monthly cost by 4) costs about $50/mo, and the gym $50/mo imo it's worth it. I'm currently working with Crystal (Red headed woman in the photos), she is very warm, personable, kind, and forgiving (of my social inequities :D ). The work out plan I'm on I believe is a pretty basic start to see where I'm at and build from it as we go. The personal training session is calm, laid back, and very low key- so you don't feel stressed or pressured. For my work out, again, I think it's fairly basic (nothing too intense, confusing, or stressful) and it's been a great way to see what I'm capable of and where I'm at. They are very attainable work out sets, nothing too heavy, not too many. If something doesn't work for you, discuss with your trainer how to modify. I recently had to modify abs, and it was an easy adjustment. I'm very VERY glad I've taken the leap. I don't feel judged, I feel comfortable going, doing my work out and leaving, it has been a wonderful introduction into the work out lifestyle! Thanks Cuong & Crystal!

He told me that there are certain foods not to eat based upon my previous health history. I thought this information was very valuable as well. His workouts are easy to do yet motivating. They may be fun but they're gonna kick your butt. Plus there's the convenience of online or in person training.

Vibe: Infrared heat. Neon glow. A modern movement playground…read more Energy: Stay present. That's where aliveness lives. Guide: Kyla Glatt * Infrared Yoga Flow I'd definitely classify Kyla as the Philosopher-Healer archetype, which makes sense because the class description promises "therapeutic beats set the tone for class." Throughout class, she shared little nuggets of wisdom (one of the reasons I'm in love with yoga). Some favorites: "Yoga doesn't take time. It gives us time." "Your intention isn't a destination. It's the journey." "Breathe light into the dark corners of your body." The flow was smooth & accessible to all levels. Beginners could follow along as Kyla demonstrated most of the poses, while more experienced practitioners had opportunities to explore expressions like Bound Half Moon & Bird of Paradise. Kyla blended Sanskrit cues, English cues, demonstrations, & gentle alignment adjustments throughout class. The music moved through contemporary country, uplifting feel-good tracks, & then softened into Trevor Hall's You Can't Rush Your Healing, echoing everything Kyla had been teaching. The Heat: Infrared is sneaky. I never actually felt hot -- not once -- yet by the end of class, my mat was completely drenched. That's the magic of infrared heat. Tribe: Friendly & Approachable. I walked in alongside another newbie & immediately felt comfortable. The dark room & neon glow made it easy to drop right in. Space & Place: Ignite is tucked into a quiet corner of Sioux Falls. I was warmly greeted by Kyla, signed a waiver, & given a tour of the studio. The studio is clean, bright, & fun. Inspirational artwork, cheerful retail displays, & plenty of amenities. Private showers, fresh towels, & a spotless restroom. The practice room itself shifts gears completely. Black walls, exposed industrial ceilings, infrared panels overhead, mirrors at the front of the room create a sleek, immersive environment. The purple glow, infrared heat, and subtle color-changing lights give the room a playful personality. Since I planned to spend the week exploring Sioux Falls yoga studios, I happily took advantage of their generous FREE first class & purchased their intro-week special. The Treasure: Beyond the wisdom, a chilled wet towel pressed onto my forehead during savasana was heaven! 2nd Class * Infrared Yoga Strong Guide: Heidi Blom The first song that came on was by The Police, and in hindsight, perhaps the Universe was trying to warn me....because this was definitely more FIRE than flow: Squats w/weights. Lunges w/weights. Warrior III w/weights. Core work w/weights. Jumping jacks. Fist pumps. More lunges. More squats. More jumping...You get the idea. To be fair, Heidi delivered exactly what the class promised: a "STRONG" full-body workout in the heat. If you're looking to build strength and leave feeling thoroughly worked, this is your class! Me? I came looking for yoga and found my inner warrior. Nice to visit. Still choosing flow. Practical Notes: * Infrared heated classes * Plenty of room between mats * Free parking * Retail area with yoga essentials * Childcare available during select hours (a rare & wonderful perk in the yoga world) * Strong schedule with options ranging from flow classes to more fitness-focused offerings Field Note: Flow or Fire? After sampling both, I've learned that while the warrior's path is worthy, I'm happiest in the dance.
