The athmosphere…read moreis "very German", and so was the menu - this does NOT mean yet another non-descript "Schnitzelhaus", but a seasonal menu (right now with lots of goose, venison and pumpkin to complement what I assume are the stables of trout, salmon and steak.
My starter was a wonderful pumpkin-chili-cream soup (@ 5.50), the missus and I had two very different, but all excellent goose disches (@ 14.20 and 23.80). There was no children's menu, but the chef made another goose disch as directed by my daughter (@ 5.90). Along with a "middle of the road" Spätburgunder @ 25.90. Desserts were Creme Brulee @ 5.50, very large serving of local cheeses @ 9.50, and what my daughter said was a wonderful ice cream (it did look good...) @ 1.30.
My daughter's attention span is even shorter than mine, so the coloring sheet and pencils the very friendly and attentive waiter brought us were a hit - as was the small play area just outside the dining room. It allowed us to enjoy the dinner (admittedly, partly in shifts), without having to worry about our family ruining the evening for other diners.
As soon as I finish this review, I will check the calendar to see when we can go back to try the venison ...
