I will explain all the issues I had. The good news is Nick the manager of the company came back and fixed all the issues. The bad news it took him three hours since there was so many issue. When you hire a professional service to do work around your house you expect it to be right. You pay good money for these guys and the technicians that came to my house were not skilled. They lacked professionalism and a pride in their workmanship. If you hire them make sure you check their work closely when the job is done. 1. They did some grout replacement in my bathroom and used a premixed sand based grout and it did not match at all. Sand based grout is NOT smooth, it is very rough and textured. 2. They did not place the PFocus epoxy sealer in all the grout lines. They missed a lot 3. They got the PFocus epoxy all over the tile and I mean all over. Nick had to sand off the epoxy and after I left I found many more spots. Very sloppy workmanship. 4. I noticed that they did a terrible job of clearing off the soap scum in the shower. I don't believe the crew used the tile cleaning product in the show. This was probably the most important place to have cleaned the tile. I noticed this after Nick left trying to fix the first set of problems so I just cleaned it up myself. 5. The shower shelf was install unlevel. It was pitched toward the shower wall so the water would puddle on the shelf. I noticed this in time so the technician could fix it before the thinset hardened. 6. As mentioned in another review they created a lot of dust that went all over the bathroom and bedroom. They covered nothing and they should have warned me that they would create so much dust. 7. The ended up replacing some tiles they knocked off by accident and they were very poorly installed. Nick had to remove them and reset them correctly.

He even hung some sample siding and shingles to help us visualize the final look and make our choices. Paul was on site every day to oversee the crew and progress, even though it wasn't even needed. Paul Jr was on site and they worked diligently and professionally every day. Our job was more than just paint! There was alot of carpentry detail done!! Adding custom window "framing," corner trims and my FAVORITE PART, cedar shake shingles to the covered porch with custom built pillars!! It adds to that custom look!!! Not only was their workmanship impeccable but they stood behind their work well beyond the warranty period. The original finished bathroom was completed in late 2016. The one issue discovered after the warranty period passed was a cracked tile in the shower resulting in some minimal water damage. Six plus years after the completion of the master bathroom Borchert arranged for a contractor to effect repairs additionally providing a reimbursement check for over half the cost of expenses. How many contractors would backup their work six plus years after the completion of their project. Borchert is the only one I know of. Easy and pleasant working with Jordan and Ron at Borchert. Without hesitation I highly recommend Borchert for kitchen or bathroom remodeling.

Our experience started out positively. The contractor, Nick, of Handy Guys, was charming and…read morepersonable at the beginning, which is why we hired him for our home renovation project. Unfortunately, the situation changed once the work was underway. He had a number of reasons for not returning calls or showing up to complete the work, including various medical issues and other personal commitments. Communication eventually stopped completely, with messages and calls going unanswered while the renovation remained unfinished. He also represented that a larger crew worked for him representing various trades, but in our experience the work was primarily done by him, with occasionally one younger assistant present. We were also left waiting for the return of our house keys after they were promised back, which forced us to change the door lock for security. The quality of workmanship was also poor. Some appliances were not hung level, several laminate boards were not glued down, some deck boards were not fully secured, tile grout was applied poorly, and only one coat of paint was applied, allowing the old paint color to show through. The attached pictures represent the state in which Nick left the project in November. This was a very stressful and disappointing experience. Homeowners should be extremely cautious, insist on a detailed written contract, and clearly define expectations for communication, completion standards, and return of property before hiring this contractor.
