We always come here during the holidays. It's always nice seeing the animals and the amazing collections.

Opened during the pandemic after the owners returned from Cameroon, Wild Kid Acres is a 5-acre farm of rescue animals. When you arrive, you feel like you're driving into someone's private driveway. Don't fret. Follow the "Wild Kid Acre" sign to park and the owner will greet you like a member of his family. The front area has a Little Free Library, a small playground with a slide and a climbing wall and an area with picnic tables and small farm animals like goats and chickens. Once you get your fill of love from the goats and chickens, the owner will guide you to the other animals- two pigs, a horse, a mini horse and cows. They ask that you don't pet them on the head and some are very nervous being rescue animals. Other than that, they are very friendly and love being around children. People can book an hour appointment online and it cost $15 per adult and $10 per child. Wild Kid Acres also hosts therapy sessions and goat yoga. With plenty of outdoor space to spread out, it's the perfect pandemic activity. If you need food, drive ten minutes into downtown Edgewater or further north to Annapolis.

Went here recently with my parents to enjoy the nice day and get some fall activities in. It's nice that they let people 60+ in for free so my parents didn't have to pay, and my basic ticket was $10. The all-inclusive pass is $25 but frankly this isn't really worth getting except for families looking to use the children's attractions like the slide and bounce house. There were plenty of chickens wandering around, as well as ducks, pigs, and other assorted barnyard animals in various pens which were fun to see. The pumpkin launching thing was a blast though $10 for three small pumpkins to fire is pretty pricey. The apple cider donuts were expensive too, 2 for $5 for small donuts. Thankfully the short hayride experience was included in the admission. While this was a cute experience, I think the main draw is for families with young children who would make the most use of all the activities here or older folks who are able to enjoy it for free. Otherwise, there's not much for those in their 20's-40's to do, though I did enjoy the brief time with the pumpkin launcher. If you have kids, definitely come! Others might want to review their other options. --- Overall: 4.0 stars Pros: - Nice staff, very friendly and helpful. - Inviting family-friendly atmosphere. - Free for 60+, not too expensive for others if you skip the kid stuff. - Plenty of stuff for kids if you're here for that. Cons: - Everything is a bit of an abridged version of things you might find elsewhere: very short small hayride, small play areas for kids. - Nothing to do for those without kids, nothing like rope swings or wine tasting.

I had never gotten a rotten pumpkin, so I didn't think to inspect it thoroughly. Drove 45 minutes home & sat my $13 punkin down to decide on decorating. Bugs later appearing & when I flipped it over, I noticed it was rotten. Had to throw it outside. (I usually but Cinderella or Fairytale pumpkins bc I like the taste. I usually only put the cheap pumpkins outside.) Personally, I'll stick with college farm. This farm did seem to have a lot for children to keep entertained & sold clothes, fresh eggs, & other jams, etc. (For kids, I prefer Dardens. The owner loves to educate kids & allow them to touch everything. They have breast cancer pink pumpkins that they donate money to fight breast cancer. They also have great pies & smoked ham.)

There is a small gift shop and a cute cat in sweater that is free to pet, although they do charge $20/hour to pet the bald cat. There are other animals there (goats, horses) and I think it costs more to cuddle/pet those animals. Be warned - this is a small cow pasture, so expect mud I don't know what a fair price is, but these seems decent Kind of a schlep to get there The bathroom is in their house!

Always brings me joy. Aiden, the owner, is a wonderful woman and has provided a close retreat to enjoy them. First, there are Highland Cows (hairy coos), which are a wonderful, rare joy to see and pet. My favorite was Maple. She happily chewed on my shirt for a half hour, front and back. Really enjoyed spending time with her. This is a must see for kids especially. They all are very mellow and you get to truly spend time with them. Second, I had the opportunity to spend time with Remi (Aiden's huge horse) and Radar (Aiden's new donkey). Having spent my entire upbringing with horses, this was very special to me. The great author Herman Melville said that "No philosophers so thoroughly comprehend us as dogs and horses." Hear, hear. Third, and a wonderful surprise, was getting to pet Aiden's dog, Oakley. Why? He is a full sized black Great Dane. I have only been close to one once, and that was 40 years ago. What an amazing dog. At least 3 feet tall and paws the size of my hands. Lastly, I walked "Goat" the goat around for a bit while she ate. That was as peaceful as it was interesting to what she ate and what she avoided. Be mindful that this is a working farm. There is mud, poop, and all the wonderfulness of being on a farm. Knowing the costs of running a farm, especially with that many animals, no one who cares about them should balk at the cost. It appears that a recent reviewer did not have a clue when booking. Of course, when they post "It took three times to ask for water, it should have been offered" then you have someone who is a bit spoiled. Just saying.
