Washington Park East's search function for "Find a Grave" is worthless. Every time they find NO…read morephotos of the graves. That is inexcusable. The place is well managed and kept clean but they offer very little help in finding graves for loved ones who are searching. Very unprofessional. I will give it credit that W.P.E. cemetery is beautiful and serene. But when you go there..you're on your own! They need to post Photos of every grave...like most big cemeteries do! I will get the ball rolling by posting the grave marker of my loved one.

The staff started yelling for everyone to have a seat...not once but several times. As the room filled and people sat, the played a classical version of the song Another One Bites the Dust. People's heads were turning in confusion and disbelief as they realized what song was playing. The song continued on a loop until a friend from our group went to the staff to request that they stop the music. Their staff's response "it's the family's playlist." UNBELIEVABLE that this could ever happen at such a sad time. SHAME ON YOU FLANNER AND BUCHANAN!

The business is still owned by the family with Tom Hendryx now as the head. The family is from the Cumberland/New Palestine area and familiar to the locals. I have now had two family members buried with Hendryx Mortuary. As much as it hurts to bury a loved one, the staff at Hendryx Mortuary is amazing. They are so kind, accommodating and helpful. We were given the Funeral Director's cell # and we could call her anytime (and this over the holidays). The day of the funeral, which was a cremation, they did a wonderful job making it all look beautiful inside with the set up. Even though we didn't include an escort to the cemetery, they still provided what felt like one and people pulled over for us which was really nice. Overall, I was highly pleased and would definitely recommend their services to those in need. They were there for us anytime we needed, for whatever we needed.
