Amazing Staff. I bowl leagues here and at Strike-N-Spare. Been bowling here over 5 years. Equipment seems well maintained. Strike-N-Spare has more problems with ball returns, pin setters not working correctly, etc. That said, fix the pizza. Flatbread/normal all have the same off flavor. Something resembling melting plastic and liquid smoke. Also not sure if it's just my league(Mon SSA) but the lanes seem much drier than Strike-N-Spare. I'm hooking 5-10 more boards than my other league with the same equipment. Does SSA get fresh oil? I realize most of the bowlers are novice straight ball shooters but for us 180+ averages, some fresh oil would be nice. read more

Made reservations for 15 people (3 lanes) for 8:00. After arriving we were told we couldn't bowl until the bowling league was done. If you look at the attached photo, there is multiple lanes open. Easily could've fixed THEIR mistake and let us bowl on the lanes we reserved. Staff needs to be more flexible especially when they are able to. read more

I want to start off by saying I have never been here any other time then rock N bowl, so this is a review only that. I have been to this bowling alley several times over the years to do the rock n bowl. During this time, the lights go down, there is fun lighting and black lights, and there usually is a DJ. Also during this time there is usually fun things going on with the DJ, there is a bar, and food counter. During covid rock N bowl shut down. It recently reopened but it was not the same. Now for $16 and some change you get two hours of unlimited bowling and free shoe rental. 1030pm-1230pm Two hours was not long enough, by the time we finally got our turn to order drinks and get a game started it was already 11pm. We were only able to play 2 and a half games. There was also no DJ this time and food was ordered at the bar, which has not been the same in the past. Prior when they had rock and bowl you had a longer time to play. It would also have been nice to have accessible cleaning material around to clean the bowling balls. Still a fun time. Get there on time to get your moneys worth. Reservations are highly recommended. read more

I come here every week for bowling league. Staff is friendly, they even remember our shoe sizes when we come in. The food is alright, not the best and not the worst. The flatbread pizza's are pretty good. Honestly wouldn't go here for the food, but when we are bowling and hungry it gets the job done. The bartender is an older lady and she can be pretty slow. 3.5 Stars, maybe 3.75. Full disclosure, I have a bit of a soft spot for no-frills lanes. This place is a little kitschy, which is always a welcome atmosphere for a bowling alley. We came during the week and it wasn't too crowded, which is in part because the place is pretty huge. It was a little bit of a challenge to find a lighter bowling ball, so I guess their usual clientele isn't noodle-armed like me. The food wasn't spectacular, but they had a pretty good bar-- to be fair, you come to a place like this to bowl and drink, not so much to eat. Feedback to Ms. Mary the owner of Flamingo bowling alley who offered me two free cosmic bowling tickets worth $24 because of what she was told by Ms. Trish Zinter, the acting Manager at the time, stating that it was a mere miscommunication. I had 4 guest who paid $48 for their ball and shoes, but had to sit at a table against a wall and wait for a turn to bowl, because our RESERVED 7th lane was given away based on what Trish told Mary was a miscommunication between myself, and my two friends that was present during the first conversation on Thursday October 8, 2020. Trish explained to the 3 of us the rules about bringing in outside food, had us look at their menu to see the food prices, and told us about the pictures being able to be displayed on the scoring monitors. She gave us a card with the price for regular bowling and cosmic bowling. Out of the 3 of us, we can vouch that she NEVER mentioned that cosmic bowling would require a deposit. We would have gladly paid a deposit to secure our 7 lanes. Trish went on to tell Mary that after speaking to us on October 8th, that she did not hear from us again. I have every email between Trish and myself. The email on October 10th, 2 days later, states everything from the dates, times, amount of people, 7 lanes needed, cake, whether people can come in without bowling, etc. etc. Mary did not respond to that email. On October 13th I sent her an email asking if she received the email from the 10th. She then emailed me back and said she did receive it. She said she remember talking to me and my two friends and WILL reserve 7 lanes for me. She said we can bring cake, as long as it's store bought and no spectators are allowed because of COVID-19. All my guest were aware that they must pay $12/person to bowl and not allowed to just attend the event. In that email, again, Trish did NOT mention anything about a deposit needed. It was a HUGE surprise on October 17 when Trish said she received a call telling her my guest were there stating they have a reservation for 7 lanes. Trish then went on to say she had to move a few people around just to give us at least 6 lanes. Just sweeping under the rug that she told me we were set to receive 7 lanes. Ms. Mary, you already apologized about the insult from "Karen" the cleaning lady saying she thinks we are just trying to get over. Thank you. When it started getting even later, I asked if we can start paying for the 6 lanes because we were suppose to go live on Facebook at 9:30. It was now around 9:45. I was told yes, but the lanes would not be on until 10:00pm. We wanted to decorate, not bowl at that time. People on Facebook waited over an hour for the live show and left without seeing the event. I had to call the surprise guest at 10:00 to ask to wait until we call and say we are ready. After everything did get situated a hour late, I had to go ask why we could not hear the music on our end. They apologized and said the speaker volume was turned down. They did turn it up. Thank you. Last, but not least. My son lost his keys there. The next day, I was told by a worker there that someone mentioned finding a key, but had the day off to confirm. My son called the next day and was told NO RECENT keys were found. I believe since a lie was so easily told about informing us about a deposit, that my son keys could have easily been found and tossed away. So Ms. Mary I am sorry to say two tickets is not good enough to take away the two stars, when 28 PAYING guest who also paid for food and drinks at your bowling alley were inconvenienced for over an hour. Bowling with the family was fun. The service was less than desirable; it didn't seem like they were short staffed since there were five employees but we were told they were. All of the employees were at the front desk but there was only one that was able (or willing) to help. A number of times we went to the front desk and most of the employees just look at you without saying anything. This only staff member that helped was the same person who was running the concession stand, and the bar. The line at the front desk was always very long which led to really long wait times to set up a lane, get shoes, request bumpers, get a snack or get a beverage from the bar. The cash out process was really confusing for both us and the woman running the front desk. Overall we had fun as a family but will likely seek another bowling alley with better service in the future. read more

Kristina up front was the nicest person ever, her and another gentleman checked us in perfectly. I like the reservation style for cosmic bowling. The food was $30, overpriced for some nachos and a sandwich. It was freezing cold too. We repeatedly told them the correct lane number but they called the wrong one 3 times. Thankfully the lane next to us was empty so we knew it was our food. Marissa the bartender (blonde & glasses) and the older lady with the grey hair behind the bar are hands down the most miserable people to EVER walk this Earth. Sure the lanes are shoddier at AMF but at least I can get service at the bar there! Especially service with a smile. Marissa skipped over multiple people waiting and seemed like it was a chore for her to pour drinks. I still tipped her because I'm not tacky but she definitely didn't deserve it. She really put a downer on our birthday celebrations. She needs a huge lesson in customer service. People were being rude to you because you constantly skipped over them and then you were rude about it. They need to hire more people here for the weekends because the wait for drinks was ridiculous. I am not likely to come back here since I paid over $80 for people to bowl and I got treated like a stain in the carpet. read more

OMG!! so great! came down to visit my daughter in school and decided to do the Cosmic Bowl. Bartender/waitress was so amazing. Drinks were perfect!!!! The whole time was so much better than expected. We will definitely be back!!! read more

Very family and kid friendly! Great staff, only sometimes they seem short-staffed, but they still do their best to accommodate everyone. They are never irritated at how many questions the kids ask about getting help with scoring, working the scoreboard, adding and removing bowling bumpers (which I might add is tailored to each bowler no matter the bowling order), and the price is really good. They have a bar space , a concession stand and a bowling shop in addition to the lanes. We really enjoy this location and have even started going there at least once a week! read more

It's been a while since I've been here, but I definitely remember it being awesome. Not expensive, plenty of space and I remember the lighting setting an impressive atmosphere at night. It turns out I showed up for one of their "Cosmic & Electro" bowling nights on the weekend, with a plethora of laser lights and DJs playing all sorts of hits. Bowling shoes are only $3 to rent and they have lots of specials throughout the week with an average game costing $3. Great place to have a party or to just go and hang out with a few friends. read more

Had myself an ad hoc birthday party with a bunch of 40 year old friends. It was perfect! We had a great time. Great customer service and a fun time was had by all. Good beer options! The woman behind the counter was extremely helpful and let us all pay individually which was really nice of her. Fun music too! A lot of fun all year round. I have been going to Flamingo Bowl for years and have always enjoyed myself. The prices are always very fair, from $1 mania Wednesday's to "Cosmic Bowling" on Fridays and Saturdays. The music is always enjoyable and the food there is pretty good. It's a nice place to take the family for a couple hours of fun. They normally do food specials as well(why not get a pizza for the family!). For the later night ground, there is a good sized bar, dart boards and arcade games. There is a large selection of house bowling balls as well some misfit, more premium balls left my bowling leaguers of the past. Search around and you just mind a diamond in the rough to shoot that high score you've always wanted! Just make sure you stay on your feet in the house shoes ;) read more

This is a great place for families. They always have specials over the summer, participate with kids bowl free, their pro-shop is wonderful. Average bowl with less than average service. The ball selection was pretty bad. Mostly mismatched balls which were either overly heavy or holes were overly small. Front desk worker had a girlfriend shadow that was very awkward. Bartender was very rude and spent a long time in the kitchen for fried food. read more

What a fun time open bowling here with friends! We each bowled three games and then had some snacks afterwards. I have been going to Flamingo Bowl for decades (back when that nice lady Marge worked the counter). It was fun then and still fun nowadays. Bowling is a great sport that can be enjoyed at any age! My friends and I went to bowl and got the family pack from 7-9. The price was fair considering there were 4 of us and we got a pizza. Honestly though the pizza was not worth it. It was a little bit under cook and greasy but we didn't complain. Although it wasn't till a little while after we all started to feel sick from the pizza. This place is incredible. The folks that work there are kind and helpful. The responses to an email I sent when we knew we would be in CNY for a month and our son needed practice time prior to going to the youth nationals. They were extremely accommodating, offered to put specific oil patterns down and at no additional charge. The pro shop was great too. Re-drilled some of his bowling balls and did a fine job. Great Customer Service. My friends and I went for Rock n Bowl last night and our balls kept getting stuck and held up on lanes 3 & 4. As frustrating as it was having the balls keep getting stuck on the lanes the two people working the front desk, a male with a beard and mustache and a woman with a pony tail, they both were extremely apologetic and despite the tower of shoes covering the front counter they dropped everything else they were doing and immediately went and cleaned off the piles of trash and wiped down the tables on lanes 33 & 34 so that my friends and I could continue to enjoy our night. No other bowling alley in the Syracuse area that we have been to has had as great customer service as Flamingo does where they really put their customers above all else. I would not give this bowling alley any rating nor my time and money. Flamingo is horribly ran and the employees are extremely rude. They are insensitive to their customers and they have no respect. The employees and this lady who claims she doesn't work there stands around and talks bad about the customers. They do not notify you when there is a lane open and just expect you to go up to the desk and check every 10 seconds. This is the third time that I have had a bad experience with this place and I do not recommend this bowling alley. The music is out dated, the employees are unprofessional and the food is horribly made and over priced. The menu is not specific with its ingredients within their food. So beware if you have any allergies! I wouldn't risk buying something and then having an allergic reaction just because the lack of information. My friend had ordered food from Flamingo and complained for her money back because she was allergic to an ingredient and the cook had given her an issue and screamed at her. So Flamingo really needs to hire more professional employees. Honestly I prefer going to the AMF bowling alley just because it's a cleaner and positive environment rather than Flamingo. If you're going to Flamingo for cosmic bowling there are so many other places that have a similar experience and way better music and food. read more

Brought a coupon for a 3 hour special. When I arrived there was slightly less than 3 hours left till night bowling. Said I could not use the coupon. The man said it was better not to use the coupon, and he "didn't want to screw" me. Paid $37 instead of $24 per the coupon. Wouldn't change his mind at the end. If I could give zero stars I would. To say this place is horrible is an understatement, I guarantee anyone looking to go here could find ANY place better. To be frank, the service was absolutely horrible and I was treated with complete and utter disrespect. To give some background, I ordered my boyfriend and I some food. I ordered a quesadilla which was marked on the menu as "quesadilla" with no other incite to what it had in it. I asked the cashier who listed chicken and that was it. I bite into my quesadilla and it has jalapeños in it. No problem, I just go up to explain I cannot eat jalapeños as they make me throw up, so I ask for a refund because there was no description about the quesadilla. I was greeted by someone who was pretending to work there, come to find out NEVER WORKED THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Who went to go tell the man behind the counter, who tells the woman who made my food. 10 minutes go by, this woman who made my food comes storming out and begins with an aggressive attitude and claims "first of all you should've known what comes in a quesadilla, and preceded to list the ingredients..." I was in absolute shock I could not believe I was spoken to like that. I am a customer and was beyond appalled someone would have that kind of customer service. She continued to raise her voice at me and speak to me rudely then asked why I had an attitude. I was absolutely shocked, she ruined my night. I was not interested in bowling anymore. No employee listening even apologized for her behavior. The woman pretending to work there who obviously knew the employees personally laughed at me. This establishment is a JOKE. The employees suck and so does the manager who sent me two buy one get one coupons, when I told her I would never go there again. So to make up for my awful experience sent me coupons which required me to spend more money at the establishment. FUCK FLAMINGO BOWLING. I can say with confidence you could get better service and have a better experience in a Walmart parking lot or literally ANYWHERE ELSE. I urge whoever reads these reviews to take this into consideration because at flamingo bowling they don't value your business and they treat customers like shit. Sunday was open bowl, I called ahead and was informed of a special, 10 dollars for three hours of bowling from 6 to 10pm, and was informed lanes would be available. I Showed up 10 minutes early, and was asked by Flamingo if I could wait 10 Minutes without an explanation. 30 minutes later I was still waiting. I approached the desk and asked what was taking so long. I was ignored, and someone mention their was only 6 lanes open bowl, for open bowl. 20 more minutes pass, and no one had the decency to tell me what was going on. I had driven 40 miles one way for their bowling special, and they only had 6 lanes open for open bowl. Then while I was waiting with my children, a bowling team said that we could not sit 20 feet behind them, because they might get distracted. This place was a nightmare, and falsely advertise their open bowl, when in all actuality there was only 6 lanes available out of 40 something lanes. 50 Minutes now had passed, and I approached an employee who was walking by, and asked why I've been waiting for 50 minutes when I called ahead, and was informed their would be plenty of lanes to bowl. She informed me they had leagues that hadn't left yet, and it could still be awhile. 50 minutes and not one person could tell us that when we arrived. The special would have ended at 10pm and we would not of had our 3 hours of bowling. Our kids who are very young, were anxious, and sad at the same time. We ended up driving home from and 80 mile round trip, because flamingo lied about having plenty of lanes for customers to use during open bowl. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and feel flamingo should at least pay for my time and gas. I also think flamingo needs serious customer service training, for none of the employees had any sense of how to deal with their customers. read more
