One downfall I observed and also was a little disappointed with is the surround sound "ALL MAX" seem like most of the sound came from front instead of surround front the sides and back; at least in Cinema 6, not sure about the other cinemas sound quality. The seats are in decent condition, the parking was easy, and the people were friendly. What else can you ask for? It's not perfect. The squeaky seat hinges could be silenced with a $5 can of WD-40. For a life-long patron of big city theaters and having to always pay $9.50+ for each person, this…read moretheater was a breath of fresh air! Granted there is only one screen, so only one movie can be played at a time, but for the price and the grandness of the theater, I can't say I care. The candy is a little high for the size, but in relation to a big city theater, still cheap. The soft drinks were plentiful and cold and there were many other drink options as well. The only negative of the evening, was that the popcorn was stale. It was warm and buttery, just tasted like it had been reheated from a previous showing. And last, the seating, it's nothing to write home about, but still adds to the character and small town charm of the Forrest Theater. Some had scuffed backs from people putting their feet up, while others had tape holding the vinyl together, but all in all, I enjoyed seeing a film in this old-style theater.

He wouldn't tell us prices when we asked. The entire time he acted as though I was annoying him and not worth his time. I felt like I went back in time....like 70 years. The theatre was a bit dated and old, but it's still pretty clean and neat...minus the smells of cow manure from some old farmers boots. From their website:…read more Showtimes every night 7:00 PM Adults $2 - Children and Seniors $1 Yes, you read that right. And I saw "The Dark Knight" here last week - and it's still in first run! Okay, price point out of the way, now on to the rave. First - this is a real, old, big, one-screen movie theatre from the days when the movies were something special. The facade is a gorgeous example those days, its geometric, restrained 1930s style a joy to behold. Inside, the original light fixtures and fittings remain. The floor is HARDWOOD PLANKS. Modern, comfy seats fit perfectly with the style and ambiance, having been chosen with care. An original dairy wall clock hangs in one of the back exit hallway doors. Popcorn is on offer in front at the snackbar. The place is filled with kids and families. There's even a (very) stern usher, who polices the place for cell phones and contraband! The show starts every night at 7:00pm (a sign hanging by the box office window tells you when the show will let out) and my family confirms it is always packed. Gotta confess I got a bit of a lump in my throat, seeing all those people gathered downtown, hanging out and seeing the show together, having a bit of a real, old-time American home town experience.
