This is one of the 'must see' things on a visit to Warrnambool. It's open day and night, you purchase a ticket for both. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on the night show.
We went off-peak, which was great, tickets were half off and there were no crowds to fight off. We opted for the 7:15 pm lantern walk to the Tales of Shipwreck Coast. (Bonus, admission comes with 20% off in the gift shop.) The night show is like a story telling, with water and light projections, and the occasional seating movement.
It's a great way to learn the history of the shipwreck coast. I could almost compare Flagstaff Hill to Sovereign Hill, but instead of a goldmine, this is a historic maritime village with a museum. There's lots of stories to read about in the museum, and a daily tour at 11:30 am. At Flagstaff Hill, you don't just learn of history, you experience it. read more
