If you're in the same situation, look no further. They are experts on plants, have great ideas on landscaping, meticulous and super friendly. I loved working with them! Also the best part is that they do monthly maintenance so that I don't have to worry about my yard going bad.

This left my front yard looking unbalanced and disjointed and frankly, uninviting. To achieve a cohesive and well planned garden, I met with several area gardeners to get comparable quotes and ideas, some who have been in the business for 15+ years. But when I described that I was interested in achieving a more breezy and romantic looking garden, which meant that many plants and bushes that are commonly seen in Florida gardens could not be used, I got a lot of push back and most strongly recommended that I keep existing bushes and hedges that I believed were keeping me from achieving one aesthetic. Then I met with Andrew and Brian of Happy Trees. Andrew is not only a landscape designer, but he listened to, and met all my objectives, which were many including creating a garden that did not attract bees or butterflies, or include anything poisonous, or any item that couldn't be touched with a bare hand (thus no spiky plants or trees). Andrew directed the design and introduced me to plants that blow in the breeze, have unique flowers, and are beautiful and colorful additions to my front yard garden. When you hire Happy Trees, you get Andrew and Brian to work directly with you through the entire process--everything from planning the job, communicating ideas and next steps, and actually doing the planting on site. While they are still a young company, they are smart, gracious and dependable and I believe will do everything they can to enhance your environment and meet your specific landscaping goals.

So First off, I believe these review sites are worthwhile and that an honest review helps all…read moreparties. So this review will be unbiased and 100% honest. First lets start with the good! Project was fairly large, not hundreds of thousands of dollars but weeks of work and multiple tens of thousands. We interviewed about 6 landscapers over a 4 month period. 2 of them never showed up or failed to deliver a quote. 1 insisted we needed $120k+ to achieve our goals, 1 wanted to work without any permits. Two were reasonable, worked within the law, and responsive. Of course Carlos at Ponderosa Landscaping was one of those. We agreed on a target budget (but this was not a hard number) and Carlos went to work. About a week later I received some digital renderings of his idea and an estimated project cost, just about $2500 over what we asked, and options to bring it down in cost if needed. Another important note, during this week waiting for "photos" I did receive a follow up message stating he was behind schedule but has not forgotten about us. We agreed on the project and got started, We worked with Cory as a supervisor for most of the project, he was very attentive to the details and made any changes we needed promptly without issue. Guys worked nearly every day M-F and some Saturdays for about 3 weeks. We were given notice prior to their arrival every week and prior to any major events such as driveway pours. Of course, changes were made and questions occurred during the project. When these happened, I would text or call Carlos. He was quick to respond, never making me wait over 2-3 hours before I had an answer. Communication was fantastic considering Carlos is a busy contractor. Overall execution of the project, achieving our ideas/dreams within budget and communication gets 5* A+++. Now The areas to watch out for, Carlos's team has some junior members and supervisors are very busy. If you want perfection, you do need to review the site a few times a week and speak up. They are very responsive and will fix things on the spot, but with many guys being junior they may need direction from time to time to achieve your desired outcome. Also, Carlos and I talked about many many things, however not all of them made it into the proposal. Carlos followed the proposal to the T, so things that we decided to "add back" were added at a very reasonable additional cost. Watch your proposal closely and make sure everything you desire is there upon agreeance. We ended up above our agreed amount by about $4000, No issues here on our part, we were very happy and made changes along the way. But if your budget is tight this is something to watch for. Now the only big area that needed to be improved. We agreed to split this project into 3 payments. 1/3 for downpayment and material purchase, 1/3 upon commencement, and 1/3 upon completion. Two of these 3 payments were charged without any notice. As they were very large payments, they put me very close to exceeding credit card limits. While this was not a problem for us, it was annoying and could definitely be improved on in the future. However, if this is the worst you have to deal with concerning a contractor you are definitely winning!!!! Just discuss billing very specifically during your contract agreement. No project this size goes perfect. Upon finishing we had 3 or 4 concerns that Carlos quickly took care of. There was slight damage to both neighbor's front yard (some grass torn up by the tractor and a rock drive messed up by concrete wash water). Carlos was always VERY accountable to mistakes and fixed them promptly without charge. Truly a refreshing and pleasant experience earning him points by everyone in the neighborhood. This project was incredibly fun to watch come to life, completely transformed our property and will be enjoying it for years to come. I would not hesitate to recommend Ponderosa Landscape and Carlos to friends or Family or to hire him again for my next project! Truly a 5* experience!

Ponderosa Landscaping last year redid my backyard drain so that it would go to the front of the house when we would have heavy rain. I have never seen a team so hard. And the work was five stars. And they were very reasonable and communicative. Later, I couldn't find the pop-up drain in the front of the house because the grass had grown over it and I texted the company. Within 24 hours they were over at the house just to help me. I rarely see a company that works so hard to keep the relationship going. If you need any kind of drain work, this is the only company you should be calling.
