This pub has had 2 re-vamps in last year, we had high hopes for it as the new tenants had awards for their cooking and keeping of pub. Well on July 10th 2010 we went in to eat, the beer was fine a good standard, and we looked at food menu. I decided on the 5 Lamps Finest Burger and my daughter had the 5 LAmps burger. This took over 40 minutes to cook despite their only being about 10 people in and most had not ordered food. This was ok as I expected the food to be freshly cooked for us, Imagine the disappointment with what come out. Poor standard food that was left on bar while the located knife and fork for us, then it was put in front of us the chips were soggy and frozen chips nothing special at all, well I come onto the burger, It was a double burger that was supposed to be a 10oz burger but was just 2 burgers on top of each other, if this is finest burger they need to get out more because this tasted like cheap Birdseye burger, grey and full of onion in the meat. It was never worth £6:50, my daughters burger was the same but half the size of mine but it was advertised as 4oz so mine was just a 8oz as it was the same burger but two of them, the onion rings were soggy. I paid £11 for poor substandard food that would not be served in a roadside burger bar.
I would go again for a drink but never again for food I will stick with The Flowerpot some 100m up the road read more
