Very touristy but love the free samples of orange juice. My personal favorite was the peach orange…read morejuice but they had a ton of different flavors. Parking wasn't bad and if you're looking for a souvenir from Florida then this is the place to go and you can definitely spot where you are by driving down the road and seeing a big metal orange. This place is full of souvenirs to potentially bring back: spices salt, and pepper, shakers, alligator jerky, Florida, popcorn, coconut candies, etc. I love that you can have samples of the juices before buying. They even had some salsa and chip samples. They are shown to have a coupon in the touristy maps and guides. One where you can use to actually get a discount on your ice cream. I ordered the dreamsicle which is the most popular, but I didn't have a chance to look at the sizes and after ordering realized that the lady, I just put me in for the regular size which was too much sugar for me. If it does, though she was kind of rushing me which I didn't love. Also, if you're wanting to use the coupon, you have to have your own copy and cut it out/rip it out. And it's also one per order. I also ordered the Keylime pie. I like the filling. It had a very much coconut flavor probably because they use more coconut milk, but their crust on it was not very good. The cream score was actually pretty good. It was a hot day so it melted pretty quickly, but I liked the orange thing that it had and balanced with the vanilla.

Since ancient times the world has known the healing and health benefits of honey. It contains…read morenutrients and antioxidants. It can help lower your blood pressure and triglycerides and improve your cholesterol. It promotes burn and wound healing and suppresses coughs. it's been touted to prevent cancer and heart disease, reduce ulcers, ease digestive problems, regulate blood sugar, and increase athletic performance. Basically it's a wonder drug but you can't use the processed stuff, you need it in the raw like they sell here. Whenever I find a farmers market I am on the lookout for local honey. That is why I was so happy to find the Harold P. Curtis Honey Co. The Harold P. Curtis Honey Co. store has been a landmark near the Caloosahatchee River on N Bridge Street since 1954. You get the honey directly from the Curtis family hives which can be found in the orange groves, pines, mangroves and along the beaches of South Central Florida. Farmers depend on the bees to pollinate their crops and the bees make the Curtis honey. Curtis Honey Co. is located in a historic building from 1927 that used to be the towns mercantile. The store is managed by the daughter of Harold P. Curtis, Rene Curtis Pratt who I had the pleasure of chatting with. Honey varieties include sea grape, mangrove, wildflower, palmetto, and orange blossom. In addition to the honey offered in many different sizes they also sell gator sauce and other spicy seasonings, honey candy, tea, jellies, honey candy, candles, and honey beauty products like soap, lotion, and lip balm. I purchased the amazing orange blossom honey soap for myself and gifts. The honey drop candy cured a minor throat irritation I have had for a month. I ended up purchasing a few gifts for upcoming birthdays which I know will be enjoyed. With the current focus on supporting local agriculture and eating healthy now is the time to rediscover what our ancestors knew, honey is good for you. Stop by the Harold P. Curtis Honey Co. to find out all the ways you can enjoy this sweet nectar. You will "bee" glad you did.

While visiting Fort Meyers for the first time, it was recommended that we go to Buckingham Farms…read morefor breakfast. We were excited to try it based on their website, reviews, and the recommendation. Upon entering you can pick up a menu or look at the menu board. There is no table service. Once you place your order you can sit down at a table and wait for your pager to go off. When your pager goes off you have to go to the back of the restaurant to get your utensils. The utensils are plastic that are dispensed. The coffee cups are made of Styrofoam, surprising since this is promoted as a"farm to table" restaurant. You can dispense your own coffee and pick up non refrigerated packaged creamers. No fresh milk or creamer offered. Again surprising. My wife asked a food preparer if she could have some fresh milk for her coffee. It was provided in a plastic container. I ordered an egg, cheese, and bacon on a biscuit. I didn't see any other type of bread offered. My wife ordered the waffle making a point for it to be prepared plain. Our pagers went off and we went to pick up our food. The waffles my wife ordered plain had some kind of cream on it. The server said she didn't see any note about it being prepared plain. She took it back to remake it and brought it out to our table. The coffee was very weak and not very good. My wife threw hers out. Her waffle was tasteless. She took a couple of bites and threw it out as well. My biscuit sandwich was also very disappointing. The biscuit was dry and hard, the texture of the bacon was like shoe leather. We could not understand why this restaurant was as busy as it was. The only thing we could think of, was that it's the only place around. We left and drove 20 minutes to a Bakery/Cafe where they served good coffee, bread, and pastries.
