I stopped in today for a couple of items for a care package. Immediately I was greeted at the door asking if it was my first time in. I've been in several times for holiday gifts. They have a massive selection of bourbon balls. They've been a huge hit every time they've been gifted. Each time I've visited, they've offered a sample of a bourbon ball. It's a great place to introduce visitors to bourbon balls! I haven't had the chance to do the bourbon tasting here yet but it's definitely on my list. You can add on chocolates!

The Sweetest Spot in NuLu! [Louisville KY]…read more On our last day in Louisville we stopped by this candy store before heading to the airport. There was some kind of gutter work going on in this part of the street so parking was limited. Unfortunately, when we came by for ice cream next door on our first day in Louisville the candy shop was already closed for the day. The shop is a small, family-owned business operating since 1921. Inside are displays of handmade candies, delectable treats like Old Fashion Kentucky Bourbons and Muth's Modjeskas as well as unique novelty treats like horseshoe shaped chocolates. I was the first customer and I already knew what I wanted. The chocolates were already pre-packaged, I chose a bag each of the milk peanut clusters and milk chocolate raisin clusters... they were fresh and so delicious! We especially loved the heart shaped red hot candies. They give out samples to taste. The red hots are perfect! Not burn your mouth hot! I bought several bags to take home to friends in California. We enjoyed exploring the museum room with all of the candy tins from years past. They have original candy making equipment and all of the history to offer a nostalgic experience. I was at an event that had desserts catered by this new business. What a great spread! They had a…read moremarshmallow smore bar that featured homemade marshmallow (bourbon or vanilla) that you toasted over a little table flame. Then she offered chcoclate or caramel sauces as well to put in your graham cracker. Fabulous idea for a party or reception. They also had little mini Oreo chocolate mousse and cheesecake in a cup. The chocolate covered sandwich cookies were also yummy. The owner and her niece are very friendly. I would highly recommend!
