If you have ClassPass, don't ever try to book here. A total waste of time and gas, good thing I live nearby. I had such a good experience with my first class from another gym (will review soon!) that I had my expectations set high. You can see the gym equipment from the outside, looks really outdated. There was a reception table with no one, the lights were even turned off, and doors locked. But there was one person working out which really confused me. And don't even bother calling the number listed here. I was surprised it was ringing. I seldom write bad reviews but just wanted to save anyone the trouble and hassle of looking forward to a Gravity class and getting really disappointed. read more

I have the same issue as others on here. They never returned my calls during Covid, when I wanted to suspend my membership. I had to get the Better Business Bureau involved, to get some of my $$ back. Terrible treatment of a long-time member. Such a shame-- I love the idea of a women's gym. read more

FRAUD. The owner or owners of this gym have strung clients along for months during COVID. They will not return phone calls or contact anyone to even negotiate some kind of reduced payment. I am considering taking legal action against them. read more

Don't call your gym and all women's gym if there's men coming in. Especially if you see that there's Muslims enrolled. The least you can do is inform us about it before hand. read more

More evening classes should be offered here. We all cannot afford the luxury of staying home. Other members have to work fuLL Time and would appreciate having evening classes available 5x a week. Where are the 430pm classes? Surely, one can't expect all working woman to fit comfortably in the 530 pm class. Bring back 430pm classes for your working class members. We pay our member dues as well. Thank you! read more

Upscale Fitness Studio. Great kids summer program!

I really enjoy the fact that this gym is just for women! I feel comfortable and the atmosphere has been great. Yeah some days are quiet and there is hardly anyone (depending what time you go) but who cares...I'm here for a workout not to see other people and it's so nice to always have a machine available. The staff have been so friendly and they remember who you are. read more

I moved out of town, and I can't say how much I miss this amazing gym! There are diverse workout options in my new city but nothing compares to the motivation, camaraderie, and results of FitZone. There is something for everyone here and the trainers and fellow members are so supportive and encouraging no matter your fitness level. Everyone is made to feel very welcome. When I did FitZone classes 3 days a week, I got in the best shape I've been in for over a decade. I also loved the Gravity classes and LesMills classes...fun and challenged my body in different ways. All the instructors are great. The owner, Leigh, is incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about making people live their best, healthiest lives! When I visit Bakersfield, I will be sure to ask about drop in classes. read more

I go to total women's, and I've been a customer for 3 years. Recently they decided to start charging $49.99 for "better gym" but most of their machines don't work, and the area is so small. Anyways if you're going to say you will charge for a better gym then actually do that. read more

I love this gym and the friendly staff, the pool, and the great classes. What I hate is that they advertise it as a women's gym but 50 to 60 percent of the time a dude pops in. I'm not paying 50 dollars for a women's gym when I could pay 25 at 24 hour fitness. I've brought it to their attention several times and the staff always tell me that men coming to their gym is a rarity and always have an excuse for why the particular man is there that day. Yet I always see men. And these men oggle at the women while they are working out. It's like the whole reason why I go to a women's gym is to be able to wear comfortable cool workout clothes without worrying about disgusting guys. If I keep seeing this issue, several friends and I will withdraw our memberships. It is an irritation to several of us. This shouldn't be advertised as a women's gym if men always turn up. read more

Love this gym! Leigh is an amazing instructor and she has a very skillful staff. I highly recommend this establishment if you want a beneficial workout. read more

The girls that work here are stupid. I called before driving here and they said they do a 7 day free pass as long as I have a local Address, yet when I get there they said they don't and it's 20 dollars for 16 days. Yeah thanks for wasting my time, no wonder this place has such shit ratings. read more

Not the best gym in Bakersfield but it's all women and that why I go there. The staff are nice, but I wish sometimes they would let us know before they bring men in. read more

I'v been going to Total Woman for 5 years and with the recent changes I have cancelled my membership. If you work from 8 to 5 this is no longer a welcoming place. There is really no way to work out independently and the hours are really too limited. If you don't take one of the classes you are out of luck. Too bad I really loved going here. read more

I recently joined total women gym and I have enjoyed my workout. I have been working out 6 days a week and it's easy to stay motivated with all if the classes they offer, not only am I getting my shape back but I am having fun! Their friendly staff is very welcoming. I have not only gained a gym but also lots of friends. My favorite thing about it is it's an all women gym so you feel comfortable working out. I would definitely recommend Total Women Gym to others. read more

I've been a member of TW for 20 years and the last 14 years have been paid via auto debit of my credit card. I need to say that in all those 14 years there has never been the slightest blip or problem with the payments. I originally joined TW during a promo that guaranteed the same dues for as long as I was a member. I liked the gym, the classes, the staff and the women atomosphere. But, the gym and it's equipment have deteriorated significantly over the past few years, the staff has become increasing unprofessional and my dues went up without any care about honoring the promo I singed up under. Today I received a past due notice from the credit card company who processes my auto debit saying I was being charged my monthly fee plus $29 for a payment that the bank made 12 days late! It took me 15 minutes of arguing to get the $29 in late fees credited. I have been a faithful and low maintenance client for years but I'm done. read more

Shouldn't advertise as a women's gym when men go in there as well to work out. Outrageous!

I love this gym mostly for the instructors and the amazingly sweet owner, Leigh. They truly make the experience a joy and keep you motivated to continue on your health and wellness journey :) read more

Old, smalllll...... and outdated. needs a jacuzzi in there and nicer atmosphere.Newer equipment and quieter equipment.

This gym has gone way down hill in the last year or so. It used to be such a good gym. Some of the problems seem to stem from cost cutting. It was so hot in there all the time this summer. Then the staff and instructors openly complain about the clients that requested the air be turned down. They close ridiculously early, and then they rush you if you are there too close to closing. They always decide they need to clean up a space whenever I'm working out there and make me leave the space - in the middle of business hours. They also act inconvenienced when you use the child care in the afternoon time slots (sometimes there are no other children so it requires a staff member to go there just for one child) even though they offer the service and its an extra $25 a month charge that the client is paying. They recently told a another gym member that she couldn't bring her kids anymore- at least they let her out of her contract. read more
