We chose this facility because we know others how have had good experiences with their loved ones, but mine was just the opposite. My dad had to wait for over two weeks to get cremated because they facility messed things up with getting the permits from cremation. They sent it to the VA for a signature on the death certificate even though my dad never was treated at the VA. This cost us days. They then sent a doctor that doesn't do electronic signatures, this cost us days. They finally sent it to his primary care doctor who finally signed off on it, but it needed a signature from the coroner (this cost us days) I will NEVER use this facility again. They are overpriced and don't seem to care about what they do. read more

We picked Fitzhenry's for our Dad's service since we knew it was a long time trusted business in Carson city. From the beginning of planning to the actual end and day of the service the staff at Dignity were excellent. Christie handled most of the planning and made it easy for my mother to plan the most perfect arrangement for my Dad(her husband of 43 years). The day of the service we met Bob Macias who is a celebrant not a minister or pastor which is more tuned to how my dad would have wanted. He was excellent and spoke with all the family members on a personal basis to get to know my Father better. His speech was perfect, elegant, touching and even humorous which was executed at the right times. They had everything together from start to end and we thank Dignity and the staff for celebrating our Fathers life and legacy. read more

My niece passed away in California and we needed prayer cards. I tried to contact other mortuary places and no one would return my calls. Do not use this place if you love your loved one and want some one to compassion. We had to go with this place as our parents per paid for their services. My husbands dad past and while his step sister kind of took the lead due to his distarught the lady never acknowledged my him or his loss. When we went to pick up his ashes they just handed him to us in the main loby and had us sign as if it was just a new dress we purchased. A compassioate place would have taken us in to a nice room and giving up a quiet moment to recive our loved one and treated it with way more comappion and dignity . please give your money to place with compassion . Christie, and the Fitzhenry's Funeral Home were nothing less than a gift and a God-send to my brother and I after our Dad passed. She knew where to step in...and carried the load when we were simply confused and weak. She knew when and how to give advice and comfort. Her ideas for Dad's service literally brought me to tears of thankfulness. Then, if that weren't enough, she dealt with the remaining confusion and even problems of others who became involved in an unexpected way. She managed to work through legalities, and yet kept relationship with the funeral home a positive, forward-moving one. Fitzhenry's handled the arrangements for Officer Howell of the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Officer Howell was recently killed in the line of duty responding to a domestic violence call. A beautiful ceremony last week there included thousands of attendees, several public safety agencies, a motorcade from Carson City to Reno, and military honors. Fitzhenry's did a beautiful, respectful job handling transportation and numerous other matters. read more
