I contacted North Shore Lawn because I was having surgery in early-October and needed to have a…read moredependable company that could come to our farm each week to mow the yard, do trimming, do special landscaping jobs that I've wanted to get done for a long time, and fall clean-up during October and November. Ryan is dependable, professional, and goes above and beyond in terms of customer service. The first week, he and an assistant trimmed back overgrown trees that had grown far too tall and wide. They took about two feet off the sides and trimmed all around the trees to create more compact and beautiful trees. It is a MUCH better entry to our home and we aren't battling with overgrown vegetation as we walk up the porch steps and into our home. The second week that Ryan was here was a simple mowing of the lawn and trimming. Everything looked so nice after he was done. He even blows away the cut grass and leaves from the walkway and driveway, giving the yard a clean and orderly look. The third week, the focus was on a perennial garden that had become overgrown by the middle of the summer. There are many flowers planted in the garden, yet various grasses and weeds overtook it. The best bet - and most financially feasible - was cutting everything back as Ryan suggested. What a difference!! We have not seen this part of the yard look so trimmed and ready to be maintained in the Spring. We will be able to distinguish now between weeds and perennial flowers in the Spring and be able to stay ahead of the weeds. Next year, the garden should be colorful and filled with flowers thanks to the prep work now that Ryan did. The other major project that he did was clearing away brush and overgrown trees next to the home. Living in an old 1890 farm home, the vegetation got too close to the home and was a welcome nesting area for animals we didn't want need next to the foundation. Also, the trees had grown spindly and were not as attractive as they were when they were first planted. We made the decision to remove four larger trees/shrubs that were not doing anything to enhance the home or yard. Having all four removed dramatically changed how light and bright it is on the inside of the home!!! Having the trees removed also lets the air move more freely around the home which will reduce the green spots and streaks on the siding. We will have the siding power washed in the Spring to clean off the siding and we will transplant hostas (which are already growing under our front pine trees) in the area where the trees once were. This will fill in the area without covering the side of the home again. We are excited to have Ryan and North Shore Lawn come back during the upcoming few weeks to finish various outdoor projects; and prepare our farm for the Winter. We plan to use North Shore Lawn again in the Spring Having a dependable, hardworking, and affordable team from North Shore Lawn who wants to see the best for their customers is a business we want to get behind and support! We are so happy they are located in town so we can support local business owners!

The crew recently did some tree work for us and they did an GREAT job! The crew could not have been more courteous, timely, efficient, professional, and all around hard-working.   They took great care in safely removing a massive tree that was leaning towards power lines and next to our machine shed. It was a challenging task, maneuvering around power lines and equipment, on a windy day. They fell the massive tree with incredible surgeon-like precision! They dropped it exactly where we asked, into a field. They also trimmed some additional limbs up high on some mature trees with their boom lift truck. I would absolutely use them again, and have already recommended them to friends. Thank you!!! Great service, fair prices and very helpful !!

The more than fair pricing, incredible integrity, and finished service is amazing…read more I had emergency tree situation. The entire crew at Junker Tree removal was fantastic in handling my specific needs. I made a phone call explaining my situation and they immediately came out to take a look and give me a bid. Short background story: I am building a garage, in the demo phase a tree was damaged significantly to the point that it would likely die. Given its proximity to my new garage (and my neighbors) it had to come down. However, I could not afford to delay the pouring of my concrete foundation and I needed to find a company to take the tree down fast and for a fair price. About the location of the tree: my tree was approximately 55 ft tall, located 2 ft from my neighbors garage, with an over head phone line running touching the tree. So a Very tight location and extra liabilities for a tree removal service. However, the team at Junker analyzed the situation and determined how to be as careful as possible. The biggest thing I loved about working with Junker: they knew my situation was urgent and that I was in a tight spot. Yet, they never ever tried to take advantage of that. They did not add on rush fees like several other companies bids or try to bill me for stuff I didn't need. Instead the team at Junker worked me into their schedule the same day! While they may not always be able to do that for other customers, I firmly believe they will try their absolute best to work with you and your needs. I am 100% confident in that. The actual removal of the tree: They cut the tree down without a single branch damaging or hitting anything. I don't even think a single branch even landed in my neighbors yard or near by garage (that's how skilled junker is) The entire team worked efficiently and because I have a truck and a trailer, I asked them to just cut the items into manageable sized pieces so I could dispose of myself to save money. They did exactly that! Junker tree was a true blessing to me. They alleviated a disaster for me and went above and beyond to meet my needs and budget. I can't say I've ever been happier with work I've hired out. If you need a tree removed and you want to work with Men of integrity, this is who you need to hire.

I would understand if they were only doing it to make them easier to pick up away from her fence, but they never came and cleaned them up. I had finished picking up leaves right before they came so there was a clear line and I saw them doing it as I was leaving. They also over spray the chemicals they add to her yard into my yard. NWI has completely earned my trust as a competent, customer-focused company that has gone above and…read morebeyond expectations more than once for me. I understand that tree removal is not an easy task - ever. They always have to deal with less then ideal environments with trees in horrible positions, ready to damage anything around them. I've never heard of a tree removal for a tree standing in the middle of a field with a nice road right up to it and no buildings, fences, mucky swamp water, steep hillsides, or structures getting in the way. I'm sure they guys would love that, but it never happens, no. Every job is always a nightmare that they have to study and plan around so the area isn't damaged. I'd never make it in that industry. About a week after a strong storm did damage to a lot of trees last year (May '25), I had a sick tree fall on some dog training equipment I have in my side yard. I needed to get that tree off the equipment quickly. I called three different tree/landscape companies nearby and not only did NWI call me back first, but they made room to take care of me in the middle of a very busy week for them - they were booked solid do remove the hundreds of trees down due to the storm a week earlier (I'm sure they were working late into the evenings then too - you know... storm cleanup)... but they came THAT AFTERNOON to remove the 60'-70' fallen Red Pine. They did it in fifteen minutes, then took another fifteen minutes for cleanup, then they had a truck come and remove the debris from the roadside that evening. Done. I didn't expect that kind of service in the middle of a disaster cleanup, but they came through for me. That's just one shining example of why NWI will always be my tree and landscape guys. They've remove other trees and ground the stumps for me; they trimmed back tree branches from the roof of the house, etc... To top it off, they're always nice to work with, personable, efficient. Every one of the broads they've got working in the office, answering the phone, and orchestrating logistics are just as sharp as anyone I've dealt with. It's nice to get hold of someone who knows what's going on around her, what the guys in the field can and cannot do in a moments notice - the girls simply have their finger on the pulse of everything going on - and that's THE person you want to deal with when you need help. It doesn't matter who answers the phone, they all are sharp as razors. I don't care what anyone says; when a company comes through for you once, you remember that... when they do it three times with consistent results; well that's when they become your go-to company. I tip my cap to the owners. A company's spirit follows the spirit of the owners, no matter what... always. Working with them tells me that the owners give a rip about their customers and I cannot say enough good things about them.

Looked good until Spring, when it started flaking off in large pieces, eventually turning to "mud", and finally a fine black powder that was tracked everywhere, including inside the house. I contacted them again and they said they would do it a third time, but at this point I did not trust they knew what they were doing. I asked for at least a partial refund and was told they do not give refunds...an example of their version of customer service. We had another vendor come out and they said they had never seen anything like it and SK's claims about shade were false. They said the first application was likely defective, which prevented the second application from adhering. Ended up hiring the other company and it dried in 24 hours and looks great.
