Horrible service. The owner was rude and snooty. After…read morehooking her door open I asked "is it okay to come in?" She snapped back "I guess!" I say "I can wait if you need me to" "nope! Come in". So I do, awkwardly, feeling like I'm an inconvenience but wondering why she hooked her door open at all. After browsing for a few moments while she prepares out back, she returns. I shyly ask if it's okay to take any pictures as I was going to use her beautiful space that I love for a presentation at school, (horticulture). She frantically throws up her hand telling me no and acting really frantic. I understand hard days, and I understand stress, but for the love of your community, keep your door locked on days where you just can't be bothered. I threw out any desire to feature her store or purchase any of the great items I saw around me and got out of there as fast as possible.

I agreed with him and ordered the oversized chair and ottoman. It was delivered about a month later and I received the world's smallest ottoman. Even the delivery people were confused (delivery people were great btw). I called the store and asked how I ended up with the tiny ottoman and Sam said it couldn't be returned because it was a custom order. I told him I would come in the next day because the ottoman was ridiculous. So I go in on a Sunday and talk with Sam (owner) and Dawn. I explain the issue in that the ottoman is supposed to be the width of the chair, not less than half. I said I never would have purchased it if it was going to be so tiny as it is not even remotely what I wanted (think chaise). I ask if they can order me a proper size ottoman and I'll pay the difference and Sam says no because they can't take the tiny ottoman back. I tell him he can put it up and their discount attic and he says no because it's a single. At which point I tell him I bought my leather chair as a single from the attic (was originally part of a set). He continued to be extremely rude and condescending. Dawn was the only nice person there. She eventually got Sam to agree to take the ottoman back and found me a proper size one. I've purchased many items at Hub and always recommended it but will never go there again as long as Sam is there. Now if Dawn opened a furniture store, I would go there in a heartbeat. She is understanding and also a fabulous designer. I should mention, the person I bought the original chair and ottoman from (Matt) recognized his mistake and apologized to me for selling me a tiny ottoman for the chair. So - Hub is great if you don't have issues but if you have issues you are on your own. I will avoid this store like the plague from here on out.

I believe the artist is local and we saw one other print machine at the Warby Parker but it looks like a different variety. There are so many cute greeting cards, matches, perfumes, candles, etc and it was all so tempting! Aside from their clothing, both locations (Biddeford store as well) have many odds and ends, including jewelry that is made by smaller companies, some home goods like blankets, pillows and decorations; hats, shoes and belts, stationary, a few baby clothing items and some good gift items. Staff is helpful and there are many that go out of their way to make your experience shopping a good one. Clothing is also online on their website. This spot is not to be missed.
